Default What is the fastest Bolt-on LT1 full weight daily driven street car?

Let me first say I AM NOT taking away from the shon herron or roadtrip120. What they have run is wicked for bolt-on times.

But I want to know what is the fastest not gutted or stripped down, geared to the moon bolt-on lt1 car is. I'm talking full weight car, daily driven.

It does get a bit overboard sometimes, but it is all in fun. I honestly had the MOST enjoyment with my LT1 car when it was just bolt ons. Since i now have a 2001 TA to use for a strip only car, I'll be putting my 96 back to bolt ons and having some more fun with it.

No, bro that not it at all. But there is a difference between a car someone drives everyday and does not want to get rid of the back seat or the spare tire or sacrifice those luxuries like ac,stereo system,ps,nice brakes, etc. I have not yet done full bolt-ons but am curious to what I should except. I low 13's the best I'm gonna get or mid 12's a possibility.

Like I said not taking away from the fastest bolt-on cars. But different strokes for different folks. I have taking a SN-95 from 3610 down to 2910 with driver. No ac,no ps,roll up windows, one racing seat, hell I even stripped 70 pounds of factory wiring from the car to put a painless wiring harness in it,ditches the airbags, renforcement beams from the doors and bumpers. You name it, if it was not needed to move the car it was gone. But that was a weekend warrior and track car. And yes it was fast, but that was a different time and now I like all the creature comforts that my 94 Z has. So I am wondering who has the fastest car bolt-on that is not stripped down. Or before they stripped it how fast was it.

This is not a who's better debate or a drama thread.

My friend's 97 Red Z went 12.57 @ 108 last friday with longtubes, cutout, TH350 W/3000 stall, stock wheels with nitto's,and a tune. It is a T-top car and he just had the back seat out of it. It was driven over an hour and a half to the track but it was only about 35 degrees out. I was still impressed.

Edit* He also has a 3:73 gear.

Eagle Idaho 2700 Ft UP. And my LTs and Wires were not on the car for the time posted. So i think i might be at like 13.5 13.6 with them on.

I gotta admit comparing my fully optioned N/A Z28 ,fully NHRA legal to 10.00 at 3,750Lbs to a gutted out 3,100Lbs street racer is hardly fair.

Then again after an 11 second pass I get to turn of the A/C Then again my car has not been considered a bolt on car since 1998

BTW I think Kurtis Tamez had it for a while with 11.5s..his biggest bolt on was a 200 shot

weight vs horsepower

I'm 12.61 @ 109 from two season ago and the car was a full weight WS6 T/A 6spd no weight taken out and was probably heavier than the stock #'s (3515) because some of the BMR suspension stuff is actually heavier, I think. I'm sure if I could run the car right now with the current bolt-ons and the few extra tricks I figured out, the car should go 12.30 ish @ 110 plus.

Thanks for the props METALBEAST. I've have always wanted to see how fast I could get the car to go in stock weight/trim. Still gonna have to give Shon Herron props for that crazy ET !!!!!

honestly who cares, bolt on car with no aftermarket rockers, fastest bolt on with no interior, Fastest Bolt on car witht the fastest et is the fastest car, period. Who cares if somone goes 12.1 with interior hes still not the fastest and no one is stoping him. ITs like guys busting on Joe O all the time and say he dosent have lt1 intake on his car. WHo cares it is what it is its avelible to everyone, you can gut it if you chose not too who really cares?

Sorry no trying to come off as an *** here, but tired of that whos the fastest with full interior, or "oh yeah you got the best time but you have this on the car that isnt factory.blah, blah blah"
If you want to be competitive go out ***** to the wall, if not just sit back and let the big boys do what they do best.

My bad I knew you were pretty close and that you were chasing the record. Are you going to be able to run it again this year?

I don't understand why you are making a big deal of this? I care who has the fastest bolt-on full weight lt1 because I am not builting a race car or a stripper street car. I have not bought parts yet to make a full bolton and am still wondering which route to go. I don't care about what intake Joe O runs on his lt1. It was a simply who has the fastest full weight daily driven bolt on LT1 question. I did not start bashing the race cars or the routes others took to go fast. Not everyone only cares about going fast all the time.

You are coming off like a *** big dog 6.9 109. How about I set you up with my big dog friends. How about a 10.5 tire mustang that cuts 1.19 60ft and runs 5.17 at 139 or my other friend that has a 710inch WITH 3 FOGGERS tube chassised 71 split bumper camaro that runs 4.46 at 159. Don't talk down to me like you are the only one to have very owned a fast car. My last car {street stripper} ways a 2900 pound SN-95 with a 680hp kieth craft 418,225 afr headed, carbed, solid roller with a 225 shot of squeeze.I sold it because street raceing die off due to the new laws and I had no need for something that would sit in the garage all the time. It was to fast for street playing and I couldn't drive it everyday so it just sat all the time. No one wanted to race it and I don't live at the track so I sold it to buy a fun daily driven street car. I am impressed with all cars but my own will be a full weight 1994 Z28 so while I am impressed with the fastest bolt on lt1's. What they have done to get there is not the way I want to go{4.33,gut the car,etc.}. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT TO EXCEPT FROM A FULL WEIGHT LT1 TO COMPARE WHAT PEOPLE HAVE DONE AND WHAT WORKS TO BUY THE RIGHT PARTS.

I WILL SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME! I AM NOT IN ANY WAY TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM JOE O.{would like to have his heads/cam package} OR ANY OF THE FASTEST BOLT-ON LT1 GUYS. THIS THREAD IS NOT TO PROVE A POINT JUST ANSWER A QUESTION.

Sorry for the caps but I get tired people getting there feelings hurt becuase they choice to strip there car to go fast. Been there done, that got the t-shirt. You will not here me dog on that, but don't dog on me for going a different route because I drive mine everyday and want to keep everything.
