Question about heads for LT1
I always see people all over the net claiming they've changed heads and now they have tremendous amounts of HP from stock. I know the LT4 is a great swap and that's what most people use. However, none of this is street legal! Can I even get better heads that can be run through emmissions?
Me: ill take lt1 heads for 1000 alex
alex trebeck:these are great flowing heads for the lt1.
//buzz//
Me: what is: LE ported heads
alex trebeck: that is correct!
anyways,
Loyd elliot is who i will be going through here soon. correct me if im wrong though his heads are stock heads P&P'd arent they?
he will port any LT1 heads that you want to send him. i definitley know of him working over some Trick Flow heads for somebody and i'm pretty sure he's at least done some AFRs if he wasn't doing them for a customer.
a set of heads has nothing to do with being street legal. the only thing i can think of is maybe the LT4 intake isn't set up for the EGR valve(i don't know or care what if it is or not). i don't think that's the case, but other than that i dunno how LT4 heads could be directly related to being street legal.
like said, your cam, tune, and emissions equipment are going to determine whether you are street legal or not.

The LT4 Intake was indeed setup to use EGR but EGR was not used on the Gran Sport Vettes. I can't recall if the few F-bodies that got the LT4 had EGR on them or not. IIRC any cam with over 200 duration have enough overlap to add exhaust gases to the intake internally
