Catted Y- Pipe Purchasing headers pretty soon 
and im going with the catted y-pipe but cant really find one and im sure you can make one for cheaper, anybody have any good reviews on a cheap high flow cat?

285 rwhp / 314 ft-lbs (75* day, 40% humidity, 100' above sea level, cutout open, basically perfect weather)
276 / 312 ft-lbs (same as above, with cutout closed)
SLP short tube headers & y-pipe w/ a random tech cat
k&n cai

STOCK tune
cheap custom 3" catback

With tuning I made 297rwhp / 321 ft-lbs w/ the cutout open on the same day.
With a tune and 100 shot I made 386 rwhp / 455 ft-lbs w/ the cutout open pulling 3 degrees of timing.
The high flow cats are at least good to 450rwhp maybe a little more. It didn't seem to choke my setup.

You can get some short 3" cats from Pypesexhaust.com (I think they're under the muffler section) but I don't know if you can get them into a y-pipe without help from a muffler shop. I have the Pacesetter longtubes with their y-pipe and the y-pipe is hitting the driver's floor and comes real close to the torque arm so I don't know if there's enough room to get the driver's side cat in there without some cutting and welding by a shop. Passenger side has plenty of room.

Yea, they are expensive, but work well. I would either forget using a cat, or get one that's PROVEN. The Randomtech is PROVEN, period. Better to spend $200 and get quality than throw away $100 on a piece of crap that chokes your system.
Im having the same prob I need a catted y-pipe for my Pacesetters. Im going to take my Pacesetter ORY and have it cut on each side so I can put on pypes cat. converters on each side and have them flanged in. However on the passenger side the ORY doesnt have enough length to put the cat in before this brace thing so I gotta cut an inch or so off the tubing of the one cat which is no problem. This way I can easily switch from straight pipes to cats just by bolting up the flanges.

Why would i NEED 2 cats if stock, my car has only 1 cat? Kinda confused there, but couldnt i just run headers, to y - pipe, to single cat, to cat back?
Those cats you listed are cheap, how far are you with this process? Do you have the headers ready and just waiting for the cats?

Are you going with longtube headers, shorties or midlength? That will determine what type of y-pipe you need. If you go with longtubes then you'd really need 2 cats coming off each header for them to actually work right. A single cat will be too far away from the engine to function properly. If you go with mid-length headers then you can go with a stock type y-pipe.
