The easiest way to find the answer to this question is to ask a girl. Everybody likes them long. If you have future high performance plans for your car the long tubes will definitely be the way to go. Kooks stainless on my bird and I love them

i had pretty much the same mods, hot cam, all the bolt ons. i went from shorty edelbrock 1 5/8 headers to flp long tubes and gained nothing. dynoed the exact same.
im happy i did it now since im making alot more power but wasnt worth it then.

Long tubes if you will ever consider more upgrades. I have a very similar set up to you and I had Hooker long tubes with true duel exhaust on the car. I swapped them out for AS&M mid length headers and the Random Tech 2 cat y-pipe, and now the car makes more power. Go figure! I guess for my mods, the mid length are perfect and tung tubes were over kill.
I have ported heads, Hot cam, Borla. A4 Car puts out 385rwhp/363rwtq

In my opinon, Long Tubes are the only way to go. If your looking for the best of the best, and are willing to pay look at Kooks and QTP. If your look for good headers, at an affordable price, most go with Hooker, Jet-Hot, or Pacesetter. With Pacesetter being the cheapest, you can get coated Pacesetters for under $400 most of the time. If your going with long tubes, it's also best to spend the extra money on Ceramic Coating, instead of the plain finish.

shorty/mids are worthless, dont believe the hype about primary size or whatever. I've owned both and sound and performance wise for my application long tubes were far better. The gains from mids to long tubes was dyno proven on my car.

Right, shortys are better on a non lowered car. thats why the poll says 90% long tubes. Acar being lowered is the only reason it should have anything besides long tubes, so when you lower your car keep in mind youll be giving up hp. Ive been on several automotive forums for over 6 years and of all the horse's n00bs like to beat this is probably the oldest one.
