Default Uh, oh ! Somebody was busy this weekend..

Well, I got a little free time and started to put together the DELTEQ ignition setup. I also purchased the billet aluminum bracket to hold the DIS coil towers and had the bracket polished then chromed, also did the same thing to the DELTEQ billet opti cover along with some of the polished MBA items that have been in boxes. I will post some pics of the MBA stuff later when get a chance to take some good pics. You will see some of the stuff in the background with the ignition setup. I did not finish the setup because the custom 9mm red wires were not the correct length, but everything else is done. I think I found my high RPM miss I have had for a very long time. When I pulled the ignition coil wire from the coil it just fell off with the center pin stuck in the factory coil. My car has always had a slight bit of ignition breakup in the high upper rpm range and I thought it was from the infamous opti, but maybe it was the weak coil wire after all this time ??? I will post more pics later..................enjoy !

Would you mind posting a picture of the wiring harness and instructions. Just to satify some of our curiousity.

Give me a day or two guys to see if I have some more pics of the wiring harness and opti-box that sits on the front of the drivers head. I will also expound on the tricks to keeping an LT1 engine bay looking like this one I do have some wires sticking up that were from my air pump that I have not had a chance to hide, Doh....

I agree, mind sharing where you got the alum brake fluid container, and the clutch. Very clean setup.

Hey Brett,

The pieces are from the LATE MBA products company. The items are top notch and it's a shame that no company has filled the void on such incredible pieces. There might be some items left at Thunder Racing ?? They bought out the remaining stock of items.

This is the best pic I could find right now of the wiring harness down to the opti-box. There are a couple of loose wires that I have not had a chance to clean up yet. The 3 wire harnesses that go to the opti-box are hidden right below the fuel line. It actually is a pretty sanitary setup if you just kinda look at it for a little bit and figure how you want to run the wires/harnesses. If anyone still has a set of the MBA billet alumnin FRC's for the LT1 I would buy them in a heartbeat !!!!

2fast97Z, How much rwhp / rwtq did you make with the LE2 Heads/Cam ? Where does the car peak ? Do you have any AVI clips of the car idling ?

Wow ! No tune and 399.3 That is awesome, I would expect you to at least make the 410 number if not higher. I think your peak will move up a 100 or 200 rpm after the dyno-tune. Keep us posted on the updates to your number's Did you make the 399.3 with the cut-out closed ?

Sgt. spuds, the cost of the system by itself with no extras was $580. I did custom built wires (red-9mm-heat shields), custom polished and chromed coil bracket, custom polished and chromed Delteq opti-cover. I have an additional $280 in all the custom and polished pieces, but for you the easiest way to look at it is $640 with the pre-done Delteq wires and your done (just install)

Hope that helps !

Your gunna love that delteq. Me and a few local guys have done the delteq ignition and we all have seen very noticeable results. You'll notice that the car pull stronger in the upper rpms "even if you have a healthy opti."

I recommend the upgrade to anyone looking on upgrading their ignition. The install is easy. Only hard part is the obvious removal and install of plugs and wires. Just remember if your current opti is a problem child you will most likely have to replace it along with the delteq. It's not suggested to run a bad existing opti, and then adding the delteq on top of it, cause it may not solve the problems.

I went with the radiator shroud mount, but now after seeing all you guys post your pics of the valve cover mount I think I am going to switch to that setup, since it's alot easier to run the wires from the top with headers.

Clean install man!

Mike
