In a LS1 there is an air damn that goes behind the radiator that scoops air off from the ground.

What about this.. maybe I should say screw it and get somthing like this? WIlli t be better than my 97 WS6 set up?... i am getting hastily confused about all this crap
I am sure that setup probably works well but IMO it looks just horrible. My choice with a conversion would probably be a good lid and either the SSRA or the FTRA setup. With a WS6 hood your mods to use that setup should be minimal.

not without hacking up your radiator support or your hood.

**** a lid.
They are overrated.

Get a nice Moroso, K&N FIPK , or SLP cai intake.

lol i have one...the lid itself might be...thing is no1 listening im going to go from my k and n to a lid with ram air setup...
on ls1 they say that just the ram air added to their lid setup gains 1-3 tenths and 1-3 mph...
one guy added 150 pound cage, and this ram air picked up 1 tenth and 1 mph...

I have a 97 Z28 A4. I bought the LS1 radiator shroud off Ebay for $35 bucks and an LS1 Airlid new off Ebay for $80. I still have my stock hood and what not. Ive been told I need a new hood and ive seen where others didnt get a new hood. Am I going to need a new hood to put this on my LT1??

Not on LT1... on a cam'ed LS1, going from stock lid to aftermarket whisper lid, it gained 10hp / 10tq.
