More pics of my 8 sec LT1 buildup
Went down to the machine shop today and broke out the digital camera like a **** since my engine builder got everything out getting ready to mock up the motor as soon as he's done balancing the rotating assy.... Block is half filled 4 bolt splayed main LT1 clearanced for 3.75" crank (383 ci), heads are AFR 227's competition ported by CSM racing engines, second street speed solid roller (over .700 on int and exh and that's all i'll say) , Pistons are 4.030 JE custom nitrous pistons based off a Pro Mod design. Gas ported with top ring land reduction grooves and using "buttons" versus Spiro Lox that have a channel machined into the ring land pack. These pistons were setup to safely handle a 500 shot of spray and will still be able to utilize a 6" Oliver billet steel rod (A rarity in a 383 motor which generally use 5.85" rods). The buttons are held in place by the bore so the wristpins can't freefloat in the piston. Rockers are Jesel Pro series shaft rockers 1.7 intake and 1.6 exhaust. Motor will be topped off with Victor E single plane, Accufab 2000cfm throttle body all controlled by a standalone FAST XFI System with wideband o2.... 2 stages of bottle, first direct port 300 hit and a 100 shot plate system done by Speedtech..... Should be a wild ride the first time on both kits..... So onto the picture show "Building of a monster".....
Had to get the action shot of the final hone of the cylinders....

Thanks man.... with the old setup i went 10.40 with a ton more weight, less cubes, small heads and zero suspension mods, and 1/3 of the squeeze (150 shot)....
This motor should run low 10's high 9's NA and we'll hit it with whatever it takes to go 8.99.....

Why the higher ratio on the exhaust side? Was it an overlap issue
Cam has more duration and lift on the exhaust lobe so the intake rocker ratio was used to promote cylinder filling on the intake side... I should have seen that when i typed it but my fingers were moving faster than my brain...
Thanks again....

Swweet... that's alot of power for an M6 but if you've got a plan for it.... I'm sure Taner would give you some tips on how to make the tranny survive.... This setup is actually very similar to Tony Shepherd's setup as well..... We have almost identical motors and his made like 492RWHP killing it at 7200 after the PCM shutdown..... should make over 500RWHP easy NA once he gets his crab style distributor on there..... I'm looking to do like 500-530ish on motor..... and 850 on spray....

Lookin good! I took a day off today so I can work on mine. Hopefully I will get alot done today. The FAST XFI is installed, the harness is on the car, new NX system is ready, FJO controller mounted, sump welded to tank.......etc. All I need to do now is put the tank back in, mount the A1000 pump, run the hoses, lay the motor in the car and get to the dyno.

It's gonna be a little while longer. I still have to draw up a panel and cut it for the n2o, fuel pump, and line lock switches. It just sucks cuz I'm bad w/ autoCAD. lol.
Also have to trim down the intake elbow a good ways to make up for the added height from the n2o plate.

Hehehehe.... Believe me I've been doing side work while the motor is getting built so once the motor gets here I can just lay it in there run some wires and it'll be "fire in the hole".... FAST XFI harness has been routed, i'm mounting the box today (hopefully i'll have some pics when it's done), fuel system is officially complete with sumped cell, weldon pump 10an feed, 6an return and about 95% of the interior is done.... having door panels fabbed as we speak. so realistically all i need to finish is brake lines, strange master cylinder install, put on the manual rack and get my intake from port pros.... And buy the injectors..... at that point it's a done deal.....
long time to wait but cubic inches equal cubic dollars...
And tony please keep us updated with dyno #'s... and btw do you have any pics of the new dist setup??? I'd be interested to see it...
