My LT1 was a gift from my parents. They bought it for me four years ago when I was 16. I've loved it ever since and probably will never get rid of it. Now with my new and improved H/C 355 I'm hoping to take down 03 Cobras so LS1s are the least of my worries. I've got bigger fish to fry.

7s or 6s with a stock ls1 block I dont think so! I think that was what I was trying to say! They only make one block for the LT1 Thats the downfall and it can take 1000+ horsepower (with modifications) but for how long.

I believe Caspar did use a stock LS1 block to run a 6.xx e/t.. I definitely might be mistaken though.

I can attest to the brute feel of the LT1's. I've owned one plus my LS1 and while my WS6 is my fav, I wish I could have kept the camaro as a driver. The low end torque was fun, plus good gas mileage. I might buy another down the road if I need a replacement for my 89.

WTF?? Yall must have dropped an Opti on your head a few to many times. LS1 is by far better then a LT1. you can swap a cam in a LS1 in a few hours and have a little over 400rwhp. if you did that on a LT1 it would take alot more time and wouldnt have 400rwhp. maybe at flywheel but not to the wheels. granted LT1's are a little cheaper to mod then a LS1, but in my opinion i would take a LS1 over a LT1 any day. the potential of a LS1 doesnt even compair to a LT1. Also LS1's are a million times easier to work on then a LT1. you have to put headers on a LT1 before you can damn near do anything to it because that ****** is packed in there so tight. LS1>LT1

That's 100% true but LT1 owners live on another planet where the LS1 came out first then the LT1. On that planet cam only LT1's run 11's and LS1's run 14's. Also on that planet it is believed that god built the LT1 and turned his back to the LS1.

Well 1 billion LS1 guys? In 1994 GM Sold 140,000+ F-Bodies. From 1998-02 the majority sold where LS1's but I think the most units they sold out of those 4 years was like 40,000 or something. Alot more LT1's around

im an lt1 guy and i still say ls1 > lt1

its better in many ways. the only thing the lt1 has going for it imo is the price.

Really now lets count the wrecked ones and ones that dont run due to neglect! I see 1 lt1 for 4 ls1's. dont forget vetts and GTO for the 04.

Dude we know this. Nobody's arguing it.

Let's try to keep this relatively on topic instead of turning it into another crappy LT1 vs LS1 thread.

NO MORE LT1 VS LS1 POSTS!!!!!!!

I like the way LT1 cars look to tell ya the truth. I could have taken out a loan and bought an LS1 but I preferred the more muscular and clean look of my 94 Formula. Had I have had the cash, I still would have bought the car I did.

so i am whatever u say i am or other
ive built over 10 lt1 engines and even more ls1's
iam an auto machinist and engine builder and i work at a engine machine shop and i bore, line hone, finish hone, etc. for a living
but i owned a 95 383 lt4 engine camaro with a th400
turbo 96 355 with a 6 speed
currently own a 96 dd lt1 camaro with bolt on's
and my v6 3.4 that is being built with a big cube LSx and l92 heads
along witha th400,4500 stall and a 9 in. building it to run in the mid to low 9's
possibly even dip into the 8's with spray
all while looking like a lt1 camaro with a wings west front lip, piaa headlight
conversion (sunuco hood if it evers get released) and arear wide bumper and fenders
being street driven regularly
as i live in houston
there will be a lot of street and track racers that will surely disrespect me for challenging them to a race, with my "LT1"
there is no shortage of slow fords or f bodys here or even slow imports.
hell my brother in law owns a mid 11 sec. prelude
i dont know why u hate and call names
im pretty sure ive changed and gone thru more opti's and lt1 engines than u
and ive def gone quicker than u in an lt1 car ive gone low 10's
and i thnk i pretty much know my way around a lt1 engine
so dont call me no fanboy or anything else

actually i don't care about what engine is harder or easier to mod,, cause after all when u start modding, it's all a pain in the A$$ no matter how u look at it,,, i just love the looks of the 93-97.. and i got mine for the same price i had a deal on a 98 model but with higher miles.... it's just love, the sound, the looks, and i'm not a fan of moddin alot... atleast not now.. so i'm pretty satisfied of owning a V8 and not any silly car... i just passed through generations of Chevy engines cause i used to own a Blazer 78' K5 with 350 in it... and man that was something else..... i'll never forget it..

I love my LT1 because I can swap an opti in 45 minutes and that includes bleeding the reverse flow cooling system.
Eh but for real I just like to be different and not jump on the bandwagon of newest ****. I mean My car is no bad to the bone race car but I built it and it runs well and if I lose I'll just go home and grab the bike

How about Lt1 Vettes, Impalas, Caprices etc.Yes there maybe some wrecked LT1 cars due to age and such but the LS1 isn't even being produced anymore. Also The oldest LS1 is 97 which makes it a almost 10 year old car,so im sure alot of them have been totalled. The LS1 GTO (2004) barely sold 7000 units and that was only 1 year of production. 2005 -2006 GTO's are LS2's

its so fun to see the looks on peoples faces when you outrun a ls1 .... ive only done it a couple of times cause most of the ls1's around here are modded pretty well but i can hang with beat a stocker
