How much did you pay for a rebuild?
I'm looking to do a basic rebuild for my LT1. How much did ya'll pay for a basic rebuild and did they do it with their parts or with a kit that you bought (please specify which kit). Thanks.

I've seen as little as a $2k for a basic 101 rebuild to about $35k with pistons, rods, turning your stock crank and mild head rebuild.
looking back wish I would have spent just that much for my current project ...but been saving for awhile.
Your looking to do a 355 at least right?

i got mine set up.
$500 to do the block (hot tank, bearings, gaskets and and machining.)
$1500 LE2 head/cam/intake package.
so around 2k for the engine and no labor because im doing it all at the house.
ive seen an LT1 rebuilt for $1200 on a forum.

I'm basically building a DD street car. I don't really have a need for forged internals (not going FI or any insane amounts of power). Basically wanting a mild heads/cam setup on a base 350 LT1. Not looking for anything insane since I am making it more for show, but something that has some *umph* to it. I'll do the topend choices myself, just looking to get an idea of how much the rest would be. Also, would the stock crank and internals be ok with 145k on them if I just purchased a basic $500 rebuild kit from Summit?

.30 over new pistons, Arp bolts
Then $200 for a 2k mile hotcam and new lifters
$1400 total
I used all the money i saved to buy a new gm opti, hoses, electric water pump, otvc wires and plugs.
So like $2000 total with everything in the engine bay new. I've gotten some pretty crazy good deals on my car. I picked up an slp intake of ebay for $1 because the guy spelled it wrong and i was the other bidder, than a 58mm holley tb for $100 on ebay as well. Being 20 years old i dont have the bigger budget that alot of people have, but i find a way to get everything the same.
Shop around.
