Default o2's for racing fuel

I know that some racing fuel is unleaded but who makes o2's for folks who want to run regular racing fuel.

Leaded race fuel clogs them I assume? I'm pretty sure they clog cats, but if you're racing, I doubt you have cats lol

The lead and other additives to the race fuel basically foul up the element inside of the sensor that relays the signal back to the PCM. It essentially slows the repsonse time of the sensor back to the PCM.

The factory sensors are supposed to be able to exposed to about 50 hours of lead exposure before they go out.

NGKs O2 sensors claim to have much higher tolerances for lead and other additives than factory sensors. I switched mine over to the NGKs and haven't had any issues with it. I've been running 100 unleaded in my car semi-frequently without any serious issues with it thus far. Basically I run 100 unleaded when I plan on spraying instead of pulling timing. Ghetto, I know.

Race fuel (leaded) fuel on a mostly factory car is essentially useless, and in the long run will cause more detrimental effects than positive ones.

Any part# for those NGK's? I am planning to bump compression. I will have a tune done but would like to run some racing fuel to help keep knock away.

I grabbed mine from Summit. I've been running them for over a month now with on and off use of full tanks of 100 Octane and haven't had any issues with them.

The problem is that even the 100 Unleaded still has so many additives that the O2s will eventually fail. It isn't as detrimental as being exposed to a leaded race fuel, but it definately isn't great for it either.

Have you noticed that is why the price of regular 93 Octane will fluctuate but the price for 100 unleaded rarely changes? There is very little of it that is actual "gasoline"

Yeah when gas prices were really climbing I told a buddy I was about to run race gas and not have to worry about it going up .23 in a day.

It has been $4.49/gal for 100 Unleaded here in Gainesville (North Central Florida) for almost a year now at Sunoco. I'm definately not complaining

Here 110 leaded at one point this summer was right near $5 a gallon...

To bad the local small airport does not let you buy 110 from them anymore.

It is the Sunoco 100 GT Race Fuel which is 100 Unleaded. Check around if there is a Sunoco station near you that sells the 100 unleaded.

NTK Oxygen Sensor on Summit

Is that a universal O2, or doest it have the factory flat 4 plug on it?

Quick Reply: o2's for racing fuel
