well youll get some sound. but its really isnt much of a power cam. so youll get what you want out of it if thats all youre looking for. especially if youre getting it for free

i have it and love it... good general cam and seems to like a little n2o every now and then. She is very strong. I was reading a few post about people pulling mid 12s on a solid bolt on lt1 and the hot cam... then if you have gears (and stall for the auto boys) you can even do better. i saw also a 175 shot (cant remember what kit) on a hot cam running 11.3s.. not bad at all.

Here is all my hot cam stuff

Dyno:
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...3571cedcd4.htm

100 shot + street tires
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...9842cbefe5.htm

100 shot + slicks
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...7ee75718d5.htm

175 shot +slicks
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...0700d82153.htm

The hot cam is a good choice for a mostly stock car. It will give it a nice healthy lope, and not surge at all (if tuned properly). It will raise your power peak from 5200 rpm to 6200 rpm.
Here is a clip of my new cam and heads 355 set up. I know you are not thinking of going this far at this time, but I am sure you will like the vid.

That car is crazy...
I am estimating mid 12's with my setup. That is Hot Cam, 1.6RR's, LT's, and a few other things. Check this out: www.cardomain.com/ride/2209986

I used the cam, worked well when emissions is a factor, its got a little lope to it, decent power increase but the more radical the better, also your entire combo and tune will dicate increase, Works well with stock heads.

The mods where:
Hot cam kit
Hooker LT's
custom Y-pipe, no cats
Stock 2OTL
Mail order tune.

The hot cam is sweet because it does not need any supporting mods (other than LT's). Once you start getting into bigger cams you start to get into expensive TB's, injectors etc..

I ran a carbed 383 LT4 in the white '68 Camaro in my sig all last race season. Granted it’s in a car setup for drag only we ran 10.90's & 10.80's with it consistently.

What kind of gas mileage would I get with full bolt-ons, 1.6 RRs, and an LT4 Hot Cam?
