cooling fans not working....
my cooling fans are not working.
Had this promblem when i got the car, replaced the engine temp sensor and it seemed to be ok, now they are not working again. (about 1 year later) Has had new thermostat, new radiator cap, radiator flush, engine temp sensor, and the fans do work.......any ideas?

If you have checked all of your sensors and fan motors and are still having this problem it could be your computer. I too had a similar problem about a year ago. Replaced the coolant temp sensor, thermostat, engine temp sensor etc. Nothing corrected the problem. Had to end up adding a fan switch inside the car to keep it from over heating.
Later I ended up sending the computer off for one with a custom tune. When the new computer arrived, the fan problem went away. It just all of a sudden started working normally like it always use to. Obviously something in the old computer wasn't working correctly I don't know if it was a software issue or what but the problem was definately with that computer.

I've been having the same problem too, under normal driving its fine but the fans don't kick in when in traffic or idling. I hooked up Datamaster and when the car is at 260* and starting to overheat, the PCM is only seeing 180*. I replaced the sensor and checked the wiring for resistance, so i'm leaning toward the PCM as my problem too.

I bought a manual fan switch back when I was a noob from slp or RKsport. It has 2 speeds, high and low and was plug n play. It can screw you really easy if you leave it on however, because it will drain you battery.
I do not have to use it anymore since I got tuned however, but it is good to have.
