if you have stock rockers, take the lift you have now and divide it by 1.5, then multiply that by 1.6. Or if you have your cam card take the lobe lift and multiply by 1.6.

Going from a 1.5 to a 1.6 will give you a total increase of 10% so if the cam show lift specs of .510 you would end up at .561 a total of .051 increase.

Just make sure to upgrade the springs when you do the swap, do springs that will support a future cam. Save you from doing the job x2. Also consider SA vs NSA and if you go NSA you can just do comp cam 918 springs

My '96 T picked up 3 1/2 to 4 rwhp from that swap. I would spend my money elsewhere.

If you don't dyno it like it is, and make the swap while still sitting on the dyno, and test it again with the new rodkers, you won't really know the difference. Removig the car from the dyno, then tying it down again can skew the numbers 2 to 4 rwhp, from the car just not sitting EXACTLY the same as the first test. Your eyeballs aren't THAT acurate. Alignment with the dyno rollers can have that much of an effect. Dyno it one day one way, another day with the different rockers, you could see more or less than the actual difference. Also, make certain your coolant & air temps have to be the same for an acurate comparrison.

If you want to do the simple math, take your known lift and multiply it by 1.067

Okay, so my bubble is kinda bursted. I was shooting for a mod that I can afford, but would be a bit better than some damn underdrive pulleys, a ported tb or a cold air intake. Originally planned a cam swap, but then I totaled the #'s. 503 cam $259, bee hive springs, new roller lifters, new optispark (since I will be in there anyway), spark plugs, computer retune, headers, maybe lifters, maybe injectors. I can afford it, but it feels irresponsible for me to blow that much at once when my wife gets nothing and the bills do exist. Anyone need some new aluminum 1.6 ratio roller rockers? They will be here in a couple days!! LOL

So you ordered part of it, and backed out of it for now?
I have an expensive project on my hands as well, but I have no wife or bills. I feel your pain though, I have friends that can barely get small stuff, and they look at what I am about to do, and are like WTF..

I feel your pain, I too don't have alot of spare cash lying around eighther. So I just bought parts when I could afford to. A year and a half later I have almost everything for the cam install and I just got finished putting on my LT's and catback. Don't sell them just cause you can't afford it all right now. Just buy the stuff when money is availible. Just be patient.

Yea, keep your stuff and collect it a little at a time. I got to do that now, I have to get a different Block, and I am slowly setting everything aside. Then I need a paintjob..lol all kinds of money that needs to be spent. Anyone know any good painters around the Little Rock area..

yeah i was doing the same thing myself, just buying what i could when i could, but then my motor blew, and i had to get every as soon as possible being my only vehicle. still took me two and half months to get everything in order from machine work, to cam and corresponding parts. it does take time when you have other obligations.

Yea, second car helps, trust me. I killed my Z at Memphis, and it was down for a month until I put a new motor in it.

Yeah, good advice. I just decided to start modding the car. I did exhaust last year when I bought it and then nitrous a month ago. That nos thing is more than I expected also. After installing the kit, I realized the low *** bottle pressure and had to buy a blanket. Hit the rev limiter hard a couple times and now I have a window switch to install. Bought the blowdown tube setup for the blow out valve, a jet assortment, injectors on the way, installed the ngk's, ect. Ya can't just buy a nos kit without some form of engine, fuel system or nos kit modification to follow. Same with just about every mod. But, that is the difference between fast car and broken car. Also the difference between those poser dudes with go fast parts stickers everywhere with nothing but a fart can muffler for a go fast mod. Maybe those rockers will go well with the cam NEXT YEAR . Good luck to all you guys and your projects.

Go ahead, keep the rockers and INSTALL them. That's 1 mod done! Worry about the cam and springs later.

I thought you needed to upgrade the springs to prevent valve float with the 1.6 rr's?

What he said, On the Dyno I only saw the same increase, usually around 3 RWHP or so, but again was this due to the 1.6's ?? Doubt it...
