Default Of course another problem has arouse weird sound, and wont rev over 3k

Ok i got my car back from GM after getting a new opti and cap and rotor put on. It has made a whining noise very faintly ever since i got it back, and its gotten louder, and louder. I just thought it was the new cap and rotor i put on because it is vented and the old one wasnt. I now know its not that. On saturday the noise just got increadably loud, and the car felt like it had lost lots of power. I tried to rev it up and it would only rev to 4k then i tried again and it would only rev to 3.5k and again and only 3k.

For a lack of a better way to discribe the sound, it sounds like an electric motor being reved really high. And also sounds like its comming from the tranny or someone around.

if it is the throw out bearing, it will only make the noise when clutch is pressed

if it doesn't make the noise in neutral without the clutch pressed then you have a bad throw out bearing, considering that the noise is evident only when you press the cluth in.... make sense?

The noise is made whether the clutch is in or out.
