Take it completely off, and make some block off plates.

I'm going to assume you have the emissions fittings for a reason. What gaskets are you using? Try some RTV gasket maker.

Yeh I think the RTV will be your best bet. It will keep them stuck together nicely. Just make sure you don't use too much, don't wana clog up the tube.

A brass M22 plug from your local parts store and RTV worked pretty damn well.

I used the gasket that came with the headers, coated both sides of it with RTV, and tightened the bolts real good. no leaks

There's no reason to block it off if you have the hookup on your headers.

If your egr fitting is like mine it only has one bolt right? I could not get mine to seal at all because where the EGR tube "slips" into the fitting on the header was all buggered up with sloppy welds(Stock from pacesetter). I finaly used a brand of gaskets that I really like called "Remflex" They are really thick, like 1/4" thick pure carbon graphite. they will seal almost any uneven surface. Seemed to work really well. But they don't make those gaskets for the egr fitting so I just cut up an extra collecter gasket I had. Hasn't leaked since. you can get theese gaskets at local parts stores.
