I'll stir in some fun....

I will say that lt1 isn't built nearly the way it should be, but my ls1 was setup fairly well, and both were stalled autos.

That being said, for those who have known me for a long time know that I'm a big fan of the lt1's and an lt1 man at heart(thus building another one), but hands down the ls1 and ls2's are better motors for power. My LE heads and no lope baby cam went 11.39 at 118mph in the ls1 camaro, while my LE heads and small(but not as small as the ls1 cam) in my old formula only went a 11.71 at 116.7. Both weighed similiar, the ls1 had less gear, but more stall, and did leave harder(1.59 60ft vs a 1.65 60ft).

I weighed both of my cars down at the same scale in downtown peoria 96 wieghed in at 3600 with me in it. The 2000 weighed in at 3400 with me in it. So i don't believe the ls1 overall is heavier. Both cars were without spare tire and jack. Both cars were also weighed with the same 12 bolt rear (just at different times obviously). It was a state certified scale since my friend is an operator loading salt and rock. I can't compare the two cars though since the ls1 has a much bigger cam and headers with both on stock heads. I can say that they both has the same street matters and gas mileage even with a larger cam in the 2000, and the ls1 pulls much, much harder.

The only way your 2000 weighed in at 3400 with you in it is if you removed more weight. We have weighed quite a few LS1 cars without jack/tire and none were under 3400 car only. Those were also on a certified scale.

I hace two friends (pretty good huh) , one owns a 95 Z28 that makes 410 Rwhp and like 430 tq. The ls1 made 430 rwhp and 38x tq. They went from a low roll and the ls1 jumped out due to traction. The lt1 just reeled him in and walked him. So when it's modded anything goes ladies. We give you guys stock for stock what else do you want?
