Default still no fix

I have a 94 firebird with the lt1 350 and after hot cam install still pinging under load, idles eractly, surging up and downin rpm's unhooked mass air flow and idle is alot smoother, throwing no codes, readjusted valves, checked all wires and plugs, also still cranking weird like timing to high, it cranks slow, checked fuel pressure and it's good. Anybody have a clue please let me know before I have to burn it!!

I have thought about that too, but why would it crank so weird and pop through the intake while cranking it?It's like the timing is way high, but I done #1 piston tdc cam at 3o'clock timing marks at 6o'clock and 12o'clock amd opti seem to go in with ease, it's weird. By the way seen your video and of your car and it's a bad ride that's what inspired me to do the hot cam kit.

Thanks man. Check your Rockers again, for the hell of it. You might need something Emissions related Tuned out.
I ran my friends Hotcam LS1 M6 with pretty much the same stuff that mine has(Int/Exh, etc..), we went from 0-100, both of us with Drag Radials on and both of us got a shitty launch. We both took off at the same time, he pulled me by 3 carlenghts the whole race. That was a good Hot Cam vs. Hot Cam race.

i have installed an opti on my 94 (spline type) they can go in wrong. my car ran like crap with it in the wrong position. the best way to install the opti correctly is to take a paint pen and mark the splines on top as they are installed correctly in the block. then put the splines into the opti and position the painted line to the top. that is how i indexed the opti correctly.

to reiterate you can install the opti and it isnt hard to do at all it happens with very little pressure

Hadn't read this yet but we finally figured it out and it was the spline in the opti, the person that rebuilt the motor must have put it back in wrong when we took the opti out the spline was suppose to pull right out we had to pry it out, car is running great now, thanks to everyone who tried to help, we do appreciate it very much.

I thought it had a Key-way, goes on one way like a Drive Shaft? I have the pin on the Cam, so that one is easy. They must have jammed yours on there..

Merv it does have a key way but the key way can be really easily inserted wrong.
I mean so easily that it seems to be going in correctly.

That's exactly what they did, they jammed it in there real good too. Wished we would have know thatbefore tearing the motor apart 3 times.
