Yeah I ran 10.40 with my old 355 with a 150 shot and started thinking "the car is heavy as ****" and with a budget motor low 10's came pretty easy. So i decided I could build a car and pretty much skip the 9's if the curbweight was down and the whole car was drag optimized.... I figure 400 more hp than the last setup and 400 less lbs should get me where i want to be.....

Running 8's and doing it safely will cost you AT LEAST 25K including everything..... 7's i can't even imagine what it would be.... If I ever find out it'll be with a single turbo 434 dart block.... i would probably try to sell this current motor turnkey... what's sad is that it hasn't even been started up yet and i'm already thinking about 7's..... i have a disease....

i hope not!

Outlaw is very correct, and that is at a minimum! That is just the motor and n2o. i should have just bought another house, lol!!!

Outlaw,

there is weight that could be pulled but i will not gut the car! i'll get there, time is the only thing now.

work is killing me right now! it does beat living outside though. things to look forward to are Hot Rod PGD in May in Memphis, and the Pinks All Out event at Milan in June 29 as well as a few other amazing events this year! all at Milan Dragway. that track has really been doing the right things the last few years.

i thought my time was nov. 4 in 06, but alas 3rd gear ended up in 5 pieces at the bottom of my trans, lol!!!! i think that is all solved we'll see if she'll take an estimated 875ish to the wheels again.

Z8's,

hope to see ya out at milan this year on a friday night event or the NSCA event. i am really looking forward to that event and the street class!

LOL Ever satified. Well this WAS the buget build All parts were bartered to keep cost Down. Even I am afraid what the next build will cost. To be honost the only reason I did not go with a Dart block was my crank did not fit in it

My wife is already not happy I all but skipped the tens...when mid tens were the Goal

dude look how similar our builds are , this is from last May/June timeframe 396 in the machineshop. I'm also using 3/8" pushrods, big as your friggin pinky.

Your running a 396, what kinda heads are you running with it? I have LE Trick Flows but i've had block problems, I got another block which is a 383 gonna hone and bore it into a 398 cubied LT1. If you know anyone needing a set of Four bolt main caps i have a set thats up for sale. There Oliver Billet Mains regular 4bolt style not splayed. I'm gonna be running the splayed caps on the other block. But if you know anyone who is need of some real good main caps shoot me a private message!

If I am not happy with 8's this year I will shoot myself! I dont think I can afford to go 7's unless I get a turbo company sponsorship!

Is there any cure for this disease?

Will keep the rods in mind and pass the word locally. These are AFR 210s, LME gutted the flimsy AFR valves & springs, 5-angle grind, custom porting, flowing 319. Those are Ferrera valves, Nextek springs, titanium keeps, etc etc.

Might be selling these end of the season for some upgraded heads flowing about 350-370.

I believe all of us are running some type of electric water pump whether it be CSI or Meziere... I'm running a CSI modded for my water pump housing with the water pump heater core supply and return lines welded up....

If only... I could do that right now!!! Awesome! Make sure to post many pics and videos when its all done, so we can all be even more jealous
there will be mroe pics in the next few weeks while my motor gets delivered and gets shoehorned in.... hopefully dyno/tuning vids will follow shortly after.... i got a guy coming down to tune it...... I'm buying a house in about 6 months so i gotta get this thing done and get all my debt paid off prior to purchase..... I know that i can't afford to go 7's.... at least not for the next few years....

but hmmmmmm living in california...... home owner......... home equity line of credit.... hmmmmmmmmm
