What would that have to do with anything?

Good to see other individuals cutting through the marketing .

Vendors do not need to lie to mislead folks, most people just skim past those all important notes and in doing so miss details that endup having them comparing apples and oranges without realizing it.

Why it is not an industry standard to flow heads on a 4.000" bore is beyond me. So many of us have aftermarket DART blocks and all with those big 4.125" bores.

You guys KNOW they flowed them on a 4.030

Truth known it was a 4.155 bore and every trick in the book, how the hell do you get a stock casting to 220 cc?

Most places use a 4.030 because that is a VERY common bore on the performance motors worked heads endup on.

Some places like to use a 4.060 to fluff the numbers a little.

Honestly my best guess on this case after some thought is that those are actually the flow numbers from the gen 1 version of this head hence the big bore. Have to figure the gen 1 smallblock was available as a 400ci motor which I am fairly sure was a 4.125 bore stock.

Still wrong to post those numbers for that bore on an LT1 head but is an explaination that stops short of flat out deception.

They may have been trying to market the heads for the larger cube LT1's. AFR tests their 210, 220, & 227's on a 4.125" bore, so they may have left the same bore fixture size for a compairison between the heads. It's not practical for a LT1 bore size, unless you have your block sleeved.

And yes the older SBC 400 had a 4.125" bore with a 3.75" stroke.
