Not sure what is going on. I put headers, x-pipe, true dual set up. Ran great for a couple of days then... It started hesitating. It is like it is clogged up or something. Checked all plug wires o2 sensors good. It only does it when it gets warm. Any suggestions on what it could be

what makes you think it has to do with the exhaust? also, maybe you are in need of a tune, but i wouldnt think too badly since you only have exhaust mods

its really hard to diagnose it with the description you gave. my first guess would be the ignition, but it could be in the fuel, its really hard to tell, a sound clip would be nice if possible, or a better description

Well when the car gets almost to running temp it starts spitting and sputtering then out of nowhere it starts running good. Then, it happens all over again. It is like i have no power. Gas also smells strong when i stop and open the door?

Thats weird, doubt it has any thing to do with the exhaust, it would have messed up right after install. If your going from having cats, the cars going to stink.

What did you do to see if the o2's are good? You sure they are going rich-lean-rich-lean... If all you did was exhaust, then only the o2's would of been messed with. Did you put new plugs in when doing the swap? However, it could be something unrelated, but unlikely.

no cats = lots of gas get used to it.. whenever i fly by my friends going 100 i get the damn ur cars rich... nope its just running good

i was thinking it was the o2 sensors. Yeah i love the gas smell always have. still not sure what it is though

Answer some of the questions so we can help diagnose the problem. You've yet to mention if you have cats. If you do NOT have cats, then yes it will smell like gas. If you do have cats and still smells like gas, then you have a problem. It would also smell if you deleted A.I.R. and EGR.

1) do you have cats
2) have you deleted emissions controls?
3) at what rpm does this "sputtering" occur?
4) have you checked the coils plugs wires for rust, corrosion, uglyness?


i've always been partial to question/answer situations,..makes everything easier.

Sounds too me like you have the same problem as i have yet to fix because of low cash flow
you're not giving a lot of details but from what i've gathered it sounds like bad O2s

Has quit doing it most of the time. Im going to change the fuel filter to see if that is the problem.

Do you have a LT4 Knock module??? some headers will **** with the stock LT1 KM

What about a tune? Headers= rich running car period. No cats means you now smell it. Rich *** running car = less hp/tq. After a while the pcm will catch on so it will get better but to get the full impact of your exhaust you need to get it tuned to match. Other little things to do is as mentioned replace the filter and clean the maf.
