Default Headlight/Fog Light Question

Does anyone know how to make the fog lights stay on while the high beams are on? Someone told me to cut the green wire at the fuse box for the fog light fuse, cap off the wire not connected to the fuse box, and connect a piece of a wire to the piece coming off the fuse box and ground it. Well it didn't work. The only thing it did was disconnect the fog lights all together.

Does anyone know how to make where you can have the fog lights come on without the headlights popping up?

True that. They just like to give speeding tickets and just give you a hard time.

I could drive around with fog lights on only in my 1994 t/a, but not in my sister's 1997 firebird, when she turns on parking lamps and foglights, headlights pop up also. This happens because of worn out headlamp motor gears. I heard all it takes is to cut a wire at the fuse box, I don't remember which one.

And note terribly useful.

Highbeams are worthless in the fog and foglamps don't serve much of a
purpose on long stretches of deserted highway.

I don't know how to make the foglights stay on when the high beams are on.....but on my 97, the foglights will light up with just the running lights on (and of course, the foglight switch on) which is how I drive with the headlights closed, and the foglights on.

I think GM changed it to do that on the 95 and higher models.

KC lighting systems makes a kit to wire it so your lowbeams stay on while your highbeams are on. It's an easy wiring job. Wouldn't be hard to get the kit and make it work with your fogs instead.

It's illegal to drive into oncoming traffic with your highs on, so if you shut off your highs, then you're not breaking any laws. Take it right to court and say "I'm sorry your honor, but I just want to get more light on the road in the dark areas. I meant no harm by it, just to have a safer drive."

But my statement is true. One can not have foglights on when highbeams are on. Thats why the fogs turn off when the high beams are on. Just wanted to make him aware of that so if he gets his high beams to work with foglights, he has the potential of getting pulled over....

And what I said, is that it's illegal to keep your Highbeams on with oncomming traffic. So he'll be smart enough to turn his highs off before any cop can see it. Even one sitting on the side won't give it a thought I bet. High beams are good for far out, but it's still nice to see the road directly infront of you. A pot hole could easily sneak up on you with highs on. The fogs light up the road in that dark area the highs miss. Unless you have the LS1 style quad setup where you could keep your highs and lows on with that KC kit, which shine all the area you need. All in all, it doesn't matter if it's illegal. No one will see it or care. Plus, what's the charge, I mean what's the basis of it?
