Contimplating selling my car, lets be fair
i am thinking about selling my black 1997 z28, a4 with 47k miles...
i know the fact that i paid 9k for it and put another 6k into does not mean that it is worth 15k...
i just want to know what a fair asking price would be or how much you might pay for a car similar to mine...
MODS:
pacesetter lt's, madz tune, slp lm 1, highflo cats from magnaflow, pacesetter y-pipe, umi sfc's, umi g-force brace w/ ds safety loop and umi g-force brace mounted torque arm, spohn lca's, lt4 spring kit, comp pro mag NSA 1.6 rr's, gm guideplates, 7.200" chromoly push rods, a/c delete with pulley, 160 thermostat, bosch 02's, moroso CAI, CSR ewp, ARP fuel pressure regulator, linelock kit and proportional valve (removed abs and traction control), ls1 front brake conversion, built 4l60e with a 2k stall torque convertor...
i'm sure i forgot something...
the car has leather and t-tops...
this car has a reconstructed title...

I agree! The salvage title is going to hurt you bad. Also, modified cars rarely bring top dollar. The average person will pay more for an unmodified car, then start throwing aftermarket parts at it.
If you're a savy seller who doesn't mind patiently waiting for that right person, I could see 7-8 thousand. For a quick sale, you could probably count yourself lucky if you got back the money you spent on mods.

you might as well just keep if it you're going to lose money on it.
I was in the same sort of situation with my previous car. 85' monte carlo ss. Bought it for $3800, put $6200 in mods. Tried selling it for $7000 and eventually (6 months later) sold it for $5000.
The lesson? You're better off just keeping it unless your ready to lose alot of money.

Neither of those are a good judge of a car's value. If you've got a friend at a dealership get them to look up the black book value on your car.
I think if you got 7k out of it you'd be lucky....but the car's value depends a lot on your location.

really? no i'm not trying to inflate it... thats why i asked... see, i like to be fair...
i'm sure the right person with cash would give me lo-8's... i don't consider it your everyday car and the only person that would understand that is someone that would understand the hard work, value, and the performance of the car...
i wouldn't even sell it to someone that didn't understand...
when it comes down to it i'll either not sell it(because i'm not going to throw 8k down the drain, i already did that) or wait until someone is tells me they want it for the right price(which i'm sure it won't happen)...

Good luck finding that person. Hope you're not needing to sell it quickly and taking a big hit for it.
