i've got a few track buddies on classic 2 bolt mains running 6's in the 8th. I know what a two bolt main can do if setup properly. I will prove this point. hell, i've got buddies who have cracked 4 bolt mains trying to beat a two bolt. Set it up right, should have no problems. If not, I'll just rebuild it again. Why not do it right the first time you say? It's more fun taking a chance while beating you with a two bolt in the process. kinda like you LT1's and LS1's beating up on the new LS7's who probably spent $70+G's..... same concept. It just feels good being the underdog. We had a guy come up to were we hang out on Friday nights; he immeadiatly started doing donuts in the parking lot with his brand new C6 Z06 LS7. He walked up to me and challenged me to a race. Un prepared and with a miss on my car i had to decline my first chance to race one. Luckly my little brother pulls up in his Stock A4 1994 Conv. LT1 with headers, 4:10's, Dyno tune, nitrous 134,000 mile car. I beat my bro pretty bad while he was on spray me all motor. So we walked up to the guy and said, "I might not be able to run you but my little bro here will". He asked "what we had and we showed him,and told him an LT1". They bust out laughing in our face. Then he asked" if we were serious', long story short. Yes we were on squeeze but he never knew when we started the car he knew it sounded different. And when he saw our tailights slowly pulling ahead of his, I bet he really knew it wasnt his night. but when we got to 150mph it was a different story. We had no more gear left. Never underestimate the power of an LT1 or what it is capable of.

Yeah and so was my stroker kit? He showed me how much weight he had to take out of it just to get it balanced. He also showed me how much weight he has to take out of conventional stock crankshafts just to get them perfect. Factory does what they need to, just to get it out the door. you may think they are balanced, but you have no idea.

I have a great tuner and a hell of a fuel system so this could get interesting. Two bolt mains, bring it on.

I am about $16k invested after I get done, and hopefully close to 500rwhp..
It's not any ordinary LS1, but still cost-effective.

I talked everything over with VRE for my setup (low reving 383, LE3 AFR's, and D1SC Procharger) and they set me up with a 2-bolt Studded main. Car should do 650-700RWHP even through the 4L80E, but I am only reving to 6200.
RPM's is what kills 2-bolt main setups and even then I see some going 7500 on SBC's that are making high HP. So who KNOWS, lol
