Nice splayed set up. That's what I'd have done if the Vettes did not come 4 bolt mains stock.

Are you going to use a windage tray?

Wondering about the dipstick as well. Also, how bout them Eagle 4 bolt caps they just came out with? Cost almost 1/3 less than other 4 bolt caps. If my motor ever has to be tore down, I'm going the 4 bolt route for sure.

huh. wasn't aware Eagle came out with a set. I've heard many builders like the Callies caps because the angle they use for the splayed bolts keeps them from having to worry as much about hitting a water jackets. apparently other caps this is a common occurance.

They're actually Pro Grams caps. I had to trim the dipstick tub a litte, but it works fine.

I'm using the Canton race pan with the built-in windage tray.

that's the name I was thinking of. They make the caps, Callies and someone else sell them under their name.

glad to hear all you had to do was trim the tube. I'd heard some caps completely block the hole but never got any confirmation of that.

Pick up the latest Summit catalog or look on their website. They're like $90 or something.
