Default Ever used mx scan

Hey guys I just bought Jet DST tuning for my car. I need to buy a scanner now and I saw mx scan by monodax. Do any of yall use this? What features should I look for in a scanner?
thanks

I have Jet DST and MXscan and it works reasonably well for me. One thing I like about it is the high sampling rate of about 10 samples/sec. I have had problems reading and clearing DTC's with it though. I have another scan tool to do that though.

Just these two are enough to tune my car. Aren't they?

Thanks

You'll need a wideband Oxygen sensor to tune WOT. A nice feature of the Jet DST is that it has analog inputs, which allows you to log data from additional sensors like a wideband.

I have MXScan and:

Theoretically yes, DST and MXScan are all you would need, except that MXScan still has some bugs and is all in all pretty incomplete. As was stated, the DTC function doesn't work properly, which isn't a big deal, but the software still does not have histrogram capabilities or a lot of other functions. You have to manipulate all your logged data in excel, which is a pain. Also, a lot of the important PIDs are erroneous (for example, anytime i've tried logging timing advance, I always get numbers in the hundreds-thousands of degrees). Short story: despite the great sampling rate, the software has too many bugs at this point to be of any REAL tuning use. Also, developments/updates are SLOW to come from the developer. BUT, the developer has emailed me personally in response to a question, telling me that he is getting ready to release a MUCH improved version which fixes most of the bugs and is much more user friendly. (I'm not holding my breath) That said, I don't recommend MXScan to anyone UNTIL this new version is released.

And as far as what one should look for in a scanner/datalogger, I personally look for sampling rate, auxillary input capability (or some method of logging a wideband), user friendliness, and functionality. But if you wanna scan/log an LT1, you don't really have any good options.....besides waiting for a complete version of MXScan.

Beast. I have not heard back from any PMs or E-mails in quiet a while. I waited over a year for it to come out then I had to buy a new laptop to run it and I still have yet to get it working. It IS the only real option for 96-97 LTx cars for sure. I am tired of using a Scan tool to log with when I already bought this software

TwoFast4Lv: check the monodax website for my latest post. I posted the email that James sent me a few weeks back.
