What muffler are you guys running with true duals? I was thinking about going with dynomax bullets but have heard mixed reviews about it

 

I run Dynomax bullets and like them, but for some people they drone too much. I have my duals going over the axle and out the rear so it sounds fine to me. Other muffler choices are spiral flows and sweet thunders.

I run Edelbrock 304 SDTs...They sound great, are only 3 5/8" thick (in the 3") and are on some 9 second cars around here...

Well my setup would be long tubes w/ a universal x pipe kit w/ two mufflers after the x pipe dumped in front of the axle

 

are the true duals system a really big advantage ?

 

 

I was working on a comparison between my old Kooks Y-pipe Borla cat back run wide open vs. my new 3" TDs with an X, edelbrocks and side exit system, but the weather did not cooperate...I ran 119.75 mph with the old set up in 50 deg weather...When we tested the new set up it was 80 deg and I went 119.97 mph...So it went a wee bit faster in the heat, but we'll see when the weather breaks this fall if they are worth it with my set up...I like that its now a bit quieter and sounds wayyyyy better than my raspy, open borla did...I'm getting a bit old for LOUD all the time..

well my only problem right now i have dnyatech LT into a custom y-pipe into a over axle split into both side of the bummer. I dont have any cats or mufflers on the car so it a True Dual system going to add much to the car the only thing i can think of is it wont have many bends it if it a TD system w/ no mufflers or cats.

 

youll want mufflers to have at least a little backpressure or you will lose a lot of low end

 

what about resonators instead ?

I am running two borla XR1 stainless mufflers on my x pipe setup. It sounds good, but its still loud. I had bullets before I swaped to the borla's, and they were louder yet.

 

When I do my true duals it will be with an H-pipe and chambered mufflers.

i bought magnaflow XLR's, i believe there called, for my true dual havent ran the car with them. I mpicked magnaflow because there mufflers tend to not be as loud as others. i like a nice tone but i hate hearing the drone when cruising around. I had no mufflers before and it would drone real bad. Pissed me off. anyone else running magnaflows

 

never liked magnaflows my buddy has them on his and i hate them

 

I think I've decided I'm gonna go with pacesetters lt, universal x pipe kit, and powersticks

 

Doesn't sound bad, I've never heard of powerstick mufflers though. I picked bullets because they were $36.99 each and aren't really mufflers more like straight through resonators lol. Let us know how the system works out for you once everything is complete.

 

flowmasters! lol just kidding but i like the sound of mine with true duals and manifolds, however they seem to have a bad rep on here
