Default LTX Shootout Classes Have Been Posted

The site has been updated with the classes and rules. We've spent a few weeks putting these together to try and get a broad range to include as many people as possible. We'll have the registration page going soon.

Thanks Kyle for adding them to the site!

Guys we have worked long and hard on getting these classes and rules figured out. We have tried to be very fair so please try to accept them as they are.

Thanks!

Tony

Deffinately. Right now the plan is to head out tuesday night before the event and haul ***. Hoping to have at least two drivers and swap at fuel ups every 350-400 miles. When we get there we are going to be half dead LOL! TnT friday night would be good. If MADMAN can make it he will be very busy with all of us!

I am already trying to hook up with sponsors for fuel

Seems like there might be a good bit of overlap between classes. What does everyone see as being a competetive time for the classes?

Outlaw could be 8 second cars.
PA could be 8 second cars if not low 9 seconds (Why the tag requirement when we have Extreme Street?)
Extreme street could be low nines (Jeff Gilbert could fit with a tire change)

Nice job with all the work though, looks like its coming along.

The 3300lbs for the N/A class is that race weight or just the car?

The rules are firm but also subject to change if legit ideas/comments are forwarded to the organizers, they will be considered. Keep in mind we need to get the first event under our belts then future events can be adjusted based on what we learn.

Don't worry I will be running outlaw I'm going to have fun not to win a class.

Couple of things could use clarifications. . .

- All weights are listed as "limits". Does that mean the car can't ber over the limit, or under the limit?
- Extreme Street says "no aftermarket EFI". Is a Methanol injection control box considered "aftermarket EFI"?
- Several classes say "OEM style transmission" or "OEM transmission". What does this mean? 4L60E or T56 only? So no TH350's? Or does OEM mean whatever transmission GM built, including PG's, TH400's, etc?
- Does "No converted SBC heads" mean AFR's, since some say that AFR's are just SBC heads converted for LTx use.

Sorry to be a stickler - just trying to head off some confusion and bickering.

Hey Mike....thanks for the questions.

Car raceweight can not be under the limit.

No Aftermarket EFI just means no Aftermarket engine management system so your MIC box would be fine as well as nitrous controllers....etc.

OEM style transmission means any GM factory trans....4l60e, T-56, TH-400, TH-350, PG, 700R4....etc.

No converted SBC heads..........means can't take Brodix, SB2.2 sbc heads and make them reverse flow and fit on LT1 block.....etc. AFR, TFS, Canfield, Edlebrock, Dart.........all are cast LT1 heads purchased that way from the producer. You buy them and bolt them on the car.

Then technically it should be worded "minimum raceweight of 3200" (or whatever the weight is). The way it's worded now is confusing.

Some more questions-

Are all or some of these classes going to be run on a .400 Pro Tree? Or is it going to be a .500 Sportsman.

How are you going to ladder them? I would recommend running a Sportsman ladder, as there will likely be big spreads between the 1-16 or 1-32 qualifiers.

I will get the race weight confusion fixed.

More than likely have a .500 pro tree.

Not sure about the ladder yet.
