Not so much working on but if my dad was on he would say buying an LT1 in the first place because after all the money and time I've put into my car I dyno the same amount as he does with his stock LS2.
but.... dyno numbers dont mean **** I run over a second faster in the 1320 than he does

trueeeeee haha
Probuilt: when you were saying you gotta undue the oil pan to take the timing cover off does the motor have to be jacked up any off the mounts? I know you gotta do that to change the oil pan gasket but for this I assume no jw what you had to do thanks bro.

My first 94 TA. After installing a CC305 I forgot to put the couler back on for the water pump. So i didnt have a working water pump. I figured it out when I was in the middle of now where on a test drive. It's funny how a small metal tube is so important. LOL.

[QUOTE=Pro_built7;8869228]shvt man lol...what did you end up going with?
Well I bought a built TH400 with a transbrake and a 3500 stall. As far as the motor goes I ripped it all apart and ordered new pushrods and rockers and a new piston. Then Yesterday I bought a LT1 out of a 95 impala ss complete and running for $300. So now I have two complete LT1s.

Buying a mellling select oil pump that doesnt fit into the stock pan, one week later 450 bux in the whole with a canton pan, pickup, and oil pan gasket because the old one ripped in the process. Having my brother persuade me that all I need to fix my transmission was a shift kit, 200 bux later, the car is down off the rack and it lost 2nd and 4th gear at the same time, so we just went out and roasted the already bald rear tires since it would just stay in first, and then hit third if you let off of the gas. Yeah you can take just the timing cover off and lower the oil pan, but lower the oil pan, otherwise the timing cover will not seat on it and it will leak like crazy, the guy who owned it before me tried fixing it with some orange silicone..probably went through two cans, I should have posted a pic with it all on..I didnt notice the problem until I had the car at my uncles auto shop, but o well I got a good price on the car.

I broke off a bolt for the lifter spider in the lifter valley...Then, broke the easy-out off in it. The easy out wouldnt come out so I had to drill around it and then tap the hole out for a 3/8-24 bolt just so the bolt was there....A 2 minute job of installing the lifter spider ended up taking a couple hours of cussing.
The 2nd, While pulling the motor I forgot to diconnect the detent cable and broke it. during removale out the top.
the 3rd. Not realizing when using the happy hooker the motor come out the side of the car. I broke my finger and smashed the meat out of it while attempting to pull it straight out...
the 4th, which I am still dealing with is buying a 2800 stall for a CC306 car....shoulda went 3500 at least

Biggest mistake? Being so pissed about breaking the stock 10bolt for a second time I put a brand spanking new moser 9" rear end with a couple thousand dollars of lightweight upgrades in it under the car. Only to find after purchasing everything that the rear end wasn't broken, only the c-clips! lol. Well in the end with a 6speed i guess it was a good mistake to make
