protecting spark plug wired from heat?

Default protecting spark plug wired from heat?

i just got my headers on and they are burning up my spark plug wires! how did you guys get around this?

I ran mine similar or close to the same route as the stock routing was. Just make sure to keep them away from the pipes. Good luck.

I zip tied some header wrap around the wires where they touch the headers. I would SUGGEST getting OTVC wires.

For the boot i've seen heat shields. I think he's talking about the actual wire.

I ran mine basically stock location. Just tied them away from the headers... I didn't have a problem.

well i bought a new set of spark plug wires...i sw some "spark plug wire heat shielding" i was thinking of getting off summitracing.

Go OTVC!! Then you will have no worries about any wire getting burned. I also put in some heat sleeves where the wire connects to the spark plug.

chavez, i know he was talking about the actual wire....cuz he said burning up the spark plug wires, not boot. simster, i had to buy the heat shield for my wires and i got it from summit...it worked for me.

do you remember what u got exactly?

and by OTVC do you mean over the valve covers? i dont know if my wires i have are long enough to do that..

im gonna go to a performance shop tommarrow and see if they have to heat sleeves for the wires and try to put them all on tommarrow. hope it helps lol...the car is missing like mad right now and im pretty sure its because im burning through the wires...am i the only one who is having problems with this?

I just ordered header wrap to insulate them. There is only one area they are close at and that is at the #2 primary.

I was getting some miss as well, you might wanna clean your MAF as well.
