Mine had a brown film on everything inside the first time I pulled the intake, but the second time I pulled it, it was all clean. I then began to have a bit of an oil pressure issue. I dropped the pan and the sump was getting plugged from all the **** the mobil 1 cleaned out of it. the previous owner only used pennzoil.

Very nasty case of sludge

That is either 10,000 miles between oil changes, or some mechanical problem such as a coolant leak into the engine, PCV malfunction, or running very rich which will break down oil very quickly.

No modern oil changed at a reasonable interval and kept topped up will sludge like that.

exactly thats the result of poor maintenance, being a lazy *** and a cheapo

thats what happens when u dont take care of ur motor, when my motor came out at 127K it was spotless, there was still a cross hatch in the cyl walls. I was shocked when we pulled the heads off.

Probably, but you have to remember that all the crap it loosens starts circulating through the engine.....

Wtf... Thats a pic from the tear down on my Teal Z28... The motor had 12k on the new build when I got it, engine #5 for the car...

I'm pretty sure thats it...
