Just for the record at the next one, Make sure all the drivers make it to the meeting. There was several guys who didn't hear because of the crappy PA system.
I know if it were me sorry wouldnt cut it.Thats for alot of money and if you dont have time to get into your groove and set rpm`s and t-barke how are you suposed to hit a good tree?
If someone did that to me in the finals they would likely have a mouth full of chickletts

I would like to say thank you to everyone for the great time. I had a blast and it was great putting voices and faces together. Everyone that I talked to were more than friendly. It was nice walking through the pits and seeing so many friends and customers with a product that came from us on there car. The support you guys give us is unreal and really appreciated.

I needed the break from the shop and I know Courtnay, Chris, Ray and Charles did to. I

The LTX staff did a great job with this race. Concidering all the odds of bad weather and breaking down cars a 50 car turn out is great for a first event. Next year people will know better what to expect and plan to have there cars ready in time. Not to metion every event I have ever seen put together starts out slows and gets better with time.

Tanner thanks for letting me be a bum and drink a few of your beers. I think I had a few to many saturday night because the 10 hour drive home was a little painful.lol

Tony, Scott, and Sean. Thanks for installing the plate kit on kyles car in the pits. Even though the editor did not retake the engine bay pics like I was told he would it still needed to be done so it was not a total waist of time.lol

Ellis,
After all the conversations we have had over the phone I would have never been able to pick you out of the crowd unless you spoke first.lol You are a riot.. Deffintly very fun guy to hang with..

Brady,
It was great to see you as well. Pulling in the pits and seeing a Nitrous Outlet sticker on your car brought a smile to my face. Your car is really nice to.. ohh and you better hang on to that woman. I think she is a keeper.

To everyone else I talked to. I enjoyed hanging out with you and meeting you. See you next time..

Dave

Give it a little time man. Most are just recovering from the long weekend and just getting home.

Hey Dave it was great to meet all of you along with everyone else
The planes were a little bouncy and it took me six or so Screw drivers to get home LOL! I tried some Coffee in Albuquerque but it did not agree as well as the Screw drivers

I gotta call the wife and get the Photo Bucket pass word and I will start uploading a few pics.

BTW Outlaw If I would have known i would have pulled the one out of my car and sent it to you!

Whew! FANTASTIC event guys! I laid my head on the pillow at 2:30 AM after unloading the car off the trailer, getting her tucked away, and unpacking my truck. The Blue Beast is a dirty bitch now, but a satisfied one.

Can't express how great it was to meet so many board members and put faces to usernames. And... now put personalities to faces. Tanner, Ellis, Speed Density Tony, and many, many more. I already know the rest of my central Texas compadres, but it was great to spend some quality time with them as well!

Justin got me in the ES final by about 3 tenths but he was a true sportsman and a great racer. Win or lose, the event was a freakin' blast!

I'm hoping someone got some pics of the Blue Beast launching with the wheels a little bit in the air. Send them my way please! I didn't bring a camera and I wouldn't have had time to use it anyway.

My hat is off to Tony&Kelli, Scott, Gustin, and all the rest of the event organizers. My sincere thanks to all the great sponsors who made the event possible. GREAT JOB TO ALL OF YOU!

Maybe he should come on here and apologize instead of you doing it for him.

There is no excuse for double bulbing in cars like these, it's not that hard to avoid unless there is a mechanical malfunction which obviously wasn't the case here. Besides, the second it happens you can back right out, which is also not what happened here.

I drive a car as fast if not faster than the what we are talking about here in case anyone wants to tell me I'm full of crap.

Dave you are full of crap! J/K LOL!

If I ever have a problem I always go talk to the other driver afterwards even if they want to kick my ***. I HAVE had it happen a once or twice where I pushed in not meaning to

KCIR made it clear they were not going to care if it happened and it was up to us and the drivers to take care of. If done over and it was me I would have let him sit there for a few minutes before i set my **** in the bulbs KCIR Said THAT was acceptable

I dont think he plans on apologizing after Taners display of ignorance on the return road.

I will let him know about this thread. But im sure he wont respond, and if hes does im sure his rsponse wont be a kind one.

Maybe so but when you are sitting at the tree in the final round all you think is ****, he lit both bulbs, now I've only got x seconds before the tree lights, and you f'd. You don't think, well screw it, I'll just take my time, cause normally if you do, the tree lights and you're done.

I guess I find it irritating when someone else comes on and says, well so and so is sorry and would have apologized, yada yada.

The offending person should do it themselves.

This is no different than burning someone down at the tree. It happens, that's life but there is usually an aftermath to deal with.

This is really the point here.

You might not be full of crap but tell me how can someone fully staged before you pre-stage cause you to have to hurry and take you out of your routine at the starting line?

#1 rule in drag racing is: Don't beat yourself
#2 rule in drag racing is: Don't let the car in the other lane mess with your mind.

It's been mentioned already in this thread that there is no time-out when one car fully stages and the other car does not light the pre-stage bulb. There is no hurry.
Relax. Take advantage of the situation now that your opponenet made the mistake to fully stage.

I've run a few heads-up events over the years and a few bracket racing point series and if someone gets all fired up and flustered at the tree expecting someone to do one thing and they did not, and then ranted about it publicly and flipped-off the winner, I'd be tempted to take away all their points or at least publicly let them know that it is not good sportsmanship.

This does not seem to be the popular opinion right now but look back at it and consider what would be more sportsman-like.

Karl Ellwein
