Default Difference Between SBC & LT1

I am not having any luck whatsoever trying to search and find out the difference between the rotating assemblies of an older 1 piece rotating assembly and one for LT1?

What is the difference?

Can we use whole rotating assembly's from older SBC in our LT1 blocks, Like a 383 or 355?

As long as its a one piece rear main I think the answer is yes.

LT1 bottom end is exactly the same as a 1 piece rear main seal SBC. So that means any 1 pc RMS SBC part will fit an LT1: crank, rods, pistons, oil pump, etc, etc.

Well I mean I got to reading the specs like rod length and actual crank throw and it all measures out to be the same. Only thing I have found different is LT1 has shorter skirt on the piston than an older SBC.

Thought rod and wrist pin location may be different between the 2 generations.

Anyone else have any knowledge on this because I'd really hate to buy a kit and then not be able to use it.

As many as possible. Surely there has to be some difference or else a lot of people would be doing this because older SBC kits are cheap for forged parts.

Yeah I mean the only other difference I have found is the reverse coolant passages, but I mean something can't be right if you were to take a rotating assembly from a small block and place in our LT Blocks, or else it would be done by people all the time.

It IS done by people all the time. The 383 LT4 I'm building has an SBC rotating assembly.

Let me be perfectly clear: IT IS THE SAME. BUY AN SBC ROTATING ASSEMBLY. IT WILL WORK. I PROMISE.

Yea, people do it a bunch, sites just list as "LT1 Stroker" to get a few more bucks out of you.

For a simple example, download and read through the Eagle catalog:
http://www.eaglerod.com/2008%20Eagle%20catalog.pdf

And search where, in the catalog, you see specific kits/parts for the LT1; if
you find LT1-specific parts, please point to it. (Yes, there are a couple of
exceptions mentioned, such as, "not for LT1").
