Default where does optispark vent hose go?

i just recently ordered a 1LE elbow off ebay and it says "For 95-97, you must drill a small hole (1/8") for your optispark vent hose" and i want to make sure i know exactly what this is for when it arrives. if anyone could get pictures or anything to help out thatd be appreciated! thanks.

not exactly sure what you are asking but its just saying you need to drill a small hole so you can plug the vent fitting into the elbow. had to do the same with my trickflow elbow

No, that's the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor, and that's NOT what this part is referring to.

The 1995+ Optispark distributor is 'vented' by engine vacuum. As such, there's an inlet and outlet vacuum hose to the optispark. The INLET hose is connected to the intake elbow before the throttle body, so that filtered/metered air is used to flush out the optispark.

This new elbow you're looking at doesn't have provisions for the 1995+ Optispark vent hose, so you simply need to poke a hole to accommodate it.

Make sense?

yea i just took a peek, theres not a hose in site, just a hole...put a bit of duct tape over it because its just letting unfiltered air in. so what happens then if i dont have this optispark vacuum hose?

get the hose, and then hook it up. The whole purpose of the vented opti revolves around that hose.

Yes, find that hose that connects to the Opti, and install it! That hose will extend the life of the opti by far!!!!
