Yeah you would probaly pick up some no doubt but if your happy where it is then thats fine atleast you wont run into any potential issues. I shift at 6400 and no problems and I really dont think I will run into any and it could be hearsay but Im not willing to spin any higher than that and risk having to spend a few grand that I dont have. I would assume Lloyd Elliot and Advanced Induction know what there talking about however.

I completely agree with Ion(Madz). With those size cam, it needs to shift at those rpm's for the best power and times at the track. Besides, it only touches those rpm's at a split of a second anyways. I'll be sending my pcm to Ion for shift points recalibration-raised a few hundred rpm.

If you cant afford spending a little more for a custom grind, how the hell are you going to be able to afford fixing somthing on the car when it breaks?

well if I ask u guys well...these guys whats the best cam then I will not be tearing anything up. But in the case i will fix it whien it breaks. Like i said though i can't afford a 968.00 custom grind cam from one of the people in this discussion. I was looking to go the cheaper route like an off the shelf cam, and springs.

If it were me I would run the 503 before I would the 306 on a stock bottom end. It will have better drivability, less cam surge, and not have to rev quite as high to get the most out of it. To tell you the truth your going to spend about $250 for either one of those cams, I would spend the $100 more and get a custom. Bret Bauers cams are $350 and Ai's are $400. Not only would the hp/tq gains be worth it but you could have a cam that exhibits whatever driveability you want along with keeping it in a safe rpm for the stock block but be as choppy or smooth at idle as you want. If you still want to go with an off the shelf I would check out the Crane 831 as well, part # is 109831. Its very similar to the cc503.
