I heard it's a good cam and makes a good amount of torque. When I went cam only, I was still getting used the the forum and didn't ask or look here . I went with a CC 501 cam since my car is stock internals and a dd. I'm going to get it dyno tuned tomorrow and I'll post up the results so you can get an idea. I think the cam I got will give me less hp than the crane or LPE, but ...I didn't even think about asking anyone until it was too late

I don't know the best for the stockbottom, but I run a custom grind cam by Speed Inc. along with their heads/intake pkg.

Where are you shifting at? From my understanding you can't get too far without spinning the hell out of the motor.

Honastly, I think a decent cam for a stock bottom end is the hotcam. I've got that in my car with a set of GTP STG2 heads and I'm putting down around 383 RWHP. Not nitro, just bolt ons. It's worth a look for a stock bottom end car. I'm sure you can find one kinda cheap too on ebay/equipment exchange forum. Lot of people like to get rid of them when they stroke their engines.

HP peaks at 6200rpm, I shift around 64-6500.

A friend of mine has an LE2 heads/cam setup on his otherwise stock shortblock. Our dyno curves are identical. We both make peak torque with 100rpm of each other and both make peak HP within 100rpms too. I actually make MORE peak torque than he does( my 358rwtq to his 353). He does make 379rwhp to my 371 though. Both dynoed on the same dyno as well.

CC306 is a great cam, kicks *** with stock heads, and really kicks *** with ported heads. I've been running this cam for 5 yrs now and would buy it again tomorrow.

CC306 hydraulic roller:

valve lift: .510/.540
duration@ '.050 230/244
lobe separation 112*

I am seeing .545/.576 lift with the 1.6 rockers though.

what did you do to get 11.3 compression? did you use the impala gasket and mill the heads down?

Heads are not milled. Block is decked and and I am using a Fel Pro head gasket that is thinner than stock but not as thin as the impala gasket.
