Never got a clean launch. Either bogging or spinning on 26" ET Streets. Was also crossing the traps at 5900rpm where my peak is 1000rpm above that. Foruth gear was virtually useless. These 3.73 gears won't cut it no more. Was probably using fourth gear all of about 500rpm before crossing the traps.
I'm pretty happy w/ the results for what they are. Was able to load the kids in back, drive 82 miles, half of it using cruise control, the other half in stop/go traffic comfortably puttering around 2000rpm, get there and run. Besides I didn't break. That's always a win win.
Race weight is 3750. DA was 711.
Naturally there's all kinds of things that need to be done. Mainly more gear. Perhaps something like a 4.56 if staying on a 26" tire or more gear and go 28". The nitrous voodoo is in the plans at some point so that needs to be taken into consideration. Need some weight transfer and probably need to put the pig on a diet, but for now I like my street car. I say for using nine year old Lingenfelter CNC heads and an intake which were originally designed for 383cid and a 211/219 cam it ain't half bad. Maybe a few years down the road if I still have this setup I'll go for some monster aftermarket heads/intake.

Once again, some nice mph. What rpm are you leaving at? What's the TA set at. Front sway bar still on?

Better heads down the road? I'd maybe look into what roadtrip120 is using. They seem to get the job done.

-2 and yes
I wanted to see what the car would do fresh off the street. Now that I've seen that I know what I have to do to go quicker and possibly faster.

Thanks man. It's been ages, but yes I'm back. Found out just how bad I missed it.

You sure about that? I have yet to see how the cost justifies the means. I'd rather pour sand down my intake.
Ohhhh I get it! You're trying to start **** now aren't you?
Ur so sly!

Me sly, not hardly. And your right, they cost a good buck. But I'd rather use them then pour sand down an intake. Anyone wanna spot be some cash?
Back to your launch, there has to be a way to get some weight transfer and just dump that thing at a high rpm. I know it's not easy, but guys are doing it.

The cost does not justify the means. Don't be stupid and waste your money on an unproven product.

Yes it's called QA1's up front, more gear and a better or more tire. With those items the ET's should increase dramatically as well as possibily gaining more mph.

Thats not fair. You going to hate me if I take my LE-X heads off and putt T4P heads on?

Never know it cost about the same as finishing the 18* stuff LOL!

Good to see you out playing again. I stopped for a while but I had to come back. Since the LTx Event I have taken another step or three across the line

Thanks. Feels like a hundred years ago you and I were going at it back in the day.
Hey, if you can get some power out of those heads then good deal. I have yet to see any results that I feel worthy to justify the price tag. I think my LPE heads/intake will suffice and feel they have some more left in them. I like keeping things as simple as humanly possible.

From what I have seen, you should be able to run a high 10.4 without opening the motor.

Sure. If I were to take several hundred pounds out of the car. Not my thing.

I think that was a compliment.
I also think the car runs damn good, and with your gear swap and that 27" tire its already picked up alot.

I jumped the gun.
I don't have a 27" tire yet. I was trying to work out a deal with the super racing warrior mdacton about his wheels, but he bitched out.

Why be a smart *** with me? All you need to do is get your sixty foot time down to about 1.50. Which you should be able to do without losing much weight.

Don't worry about it. Just a mix up is all. I was not being a smartass when saying I don't want to take weight out of the car. It is what it is. I know it drives some people bonkers, but I plan on keeping this car as close to original as possible so if I ever do sell it I don't have to go through the pain in the *** of putting **** back onto it. My goal is to see what it'll do as it sits. No promises and no guarantees. Never made them before and won't start now.

Very nice considering weight/tire/and gear...Yeah, I'd go with 4.56s and a 28" tire...60's will probably drop and mph should definitely go up...In my strange completely unscientific experiment with gear/tire changes I went from a 26" tire with 3.73s to 28's and 4.10s and dropped 60' to a consistent 1.50-1.52 and mph went up 1.5 mph...Weird because I thought that 26/3.73 combo would net the same trap rpm as the 28/4.10s...I was just trying to drop my 60'...the mph was a bonus...turns out that my trap rpm went up a couple hundred rpm and that picked up my trap speed...

I'm thinking that the extra sidewall of the 28s and the rpm of the 4.56s will make that thing a whole new animal...

...and I applaud your lack of weight reduction...I have a Harwood hood and no back seats, and Weld wheels, but everything else, including A/C, AIR pump, etc...is still in place...and I won't drop more weight either...

I thought this was a new post.

You should feel obligated to go get new times now. We should race to see who gets to the track first? (I'm going to lose)
