question about my car?
ok i got a 96 trans am , and right behind the trans am, NOT the trans am mount that goes across the back of the transmission, but about 1 ft behind that , is there supposed to be another bracket that goes across to hold the exhaust up or what? if so what is is called cause i can see where it used to be bolted and it not on there

lol I assume you mean Transmission when you say 'trans am' twice. There is a torque-arm that connects from the transmission to the rear end, but I don't think the exhaust mounts to that. Mine has body hooks(hangers) with standard rubber mounts.

yes i was just curious what it was , u got ur transmission mount, and theres another spot for a bracket across about a foot behind the transmission mount , but its not there and i dont think it will fit...where do u put ur exhaust hanger at whenever u did ur headers?

That bracket you are talking about only connects to the chassis, not the exhaust. It's just there to add more support for the chassis. I had to leave mine off as well but it doesn't make any noticeable difference. I still have the piece laying around for when I get a custom exhaust although I'm not sure it's even worth keeping.

It's called the "tunnel brace".... It's there to add some ridgidity to the floor pan.
