average breaking point for stock 10 bolt
from what iv seen it seems to be high 11s. does this seem right to anyone? im about to put an Ai cam in my car and am kinda scared to take it to the track. im on street tires, but still. the cam claims 345-360 rwhp although it is a higher revving cam than the stocker. ill be shifting around 6300. i have added a girdle and studed the rear end. full weight, although when i hit the track after the cam install, im ripping out the seats and all the junk i have in my car. full weigh weighs in at 3585 with me in it. and the 4.10s are in now. no noises comming from the gears at all . 98k miles. who would risk it if it was your only car?

on 275/40 555's on normal street tire pressure, my best 60' is a 2.22, normal is a 2.2x. if it was my only car I wouldn't risk it, hell I don't plan on putting on dr's untill there's a dana 60 or 12 bolt under it.

I made several mid 11 sec passes on mine and it held, but it is an auto 1.63 60 ft. If you dont get crazy on the line you should be ok, If you get the r's up too high and dump the clutch you will probly be walking.

there is no average on this question seeing some guys have broke the rearend shifting hard on street tires on the street with 300rwhp..... some guys have been spraying nitrous with bolt ons on dragradials on the street and some strip for years and no problems...... i would say to take it easy on a 10 bolt and dont race it much at the track on sticky tires and if you do make sure and keep it under 3,000 rpms on the launch..... and you can shift hard but dont be down shifting and slam the gas down banging gears all the time.... if a 10 bolt is taken care of and not mistreated it CAN last for a long time...... add cam, bolt ons, nitrous, sticky tires, and ect and it will for sure put that chances at risk for breaking
