I agree with this but I would also like to accomodate the Stock Eliminator cars. Any ideas how I could kill two birds with one stone?

Tony,

I'm OK with whatever you decide. As your rules stand right now a car built to run N/A should hand a LT1 Stocker it's butt. Seems to me that these guys need to work harder.

Take Care,

Daren, I agree with you maybe it will make a few work harder instead of lobbying for rules changes to exclude cars.

don't need to do that. I meet all the requirements to run in the NA class. I'm under the tire rule just have to add some weight. By that time I may be doing just that thought..depends on when I decide to do some stuff to it that I have sitting in my shop. I plan on coming to the race and will run in whatever class I meet tech in but doubt I will build the car or not do something to just make the rules for one race.

if he meets the rules then come race but I don't see adjusting the rules to include a car that will hurt turnout. If you meet the set rules then give it a shot. Not sure if it would be worth it for him to get the car registered and buy a set of tires for one race though.

Let's just see what the final rules look like.

OK.

Firstly, my Formula had factory manual windows and AC-delete. Second, not one of those items are listed in the current rules. How well does your car drive in the rain (be honest)? I'm sure that the allowed 29.5" slicks would do great. How about all those spools and 4.71 gears?

Then again the class was not made for race cars per say
If the rules are written to exclude race cars I will have my answer.

For the record, the 29.5 tires are about the same diameter as some 30" radials and will actually grow more than than the radial. They are a whole lot more stable than the bias-ply tire. And again, a car built to run the existing rules should hand any LT1 Stocker it's butt.

You do race N/A, right?

4.71 its not so bad with a 28" tire. The final drive ratio of a 6 speed helps out allot on that too. Even with a stock size tire the rpms were only around 2600 at highway speeds if I remember. I'm also not trying to fool anyone though. The car rarely goes on the street.

... Tony I guess you don't make enough power to need reliability yet.

edit: I keep typing responses, but deleted them since I hate dealing with BS

I hear you and I know I add to it. BUT then look at the mess Drag Radial is in. THAT is what happens when you keep changing the rules to fit this car and that car. Pretty soon you eliminate the rest of the field....!
