Default Stock trans. shift points?

I just wanted to get a feel for where everyone is shifting during normal city driving, if there is such a thing as "normal"... Basically, like your everyday commute whether it be to work, the store, etc. If you could list RPM, MPH or both. If you shift during a range of either, please list that also. Thanks!

I'm basically stock except for some goodies in my sig. I shift at 2,000. I also baby my car and make sure my shifts are smooth.

Stock cam: Putt-putt driving is 2-2.5k. Pulling into cross traffic (not freeway) is 2.5-3.5k. Entering fast traffic is anywhere from 3.5-redline; just depends on situation. Upshift whenever possible when maintaining with traffic flow or cruiseing to keep rpms between 1500-1700 rpm.

Yeah, That's what I thought. I normally shift at 2,000 rpm, but usually in between 2,000 and 2,500 RPM. However, I usually cruise between 1,000 and 1,500 RPM... I'd say more closer to 1,500 though.

Does putting a cam in the car change where you would normally shift RPM-wise?

It is not a yes or no answer. It depends on the cam and what other mods you have. Also, i wouldn't recommend cruising at 1K unless your in a parking garage going 10mph. Lugging the engine at higher speeds and higher gears can put undue strain on the valvetrain.

I'll be running 3.89 Gears, so at 80 in the highway it'll be about 2000RPM's.
I want to try and stay around that RPM in the city and other driving, unless I'm playing with it.

Bah... I meant to say "closer to 1,500 though." Can't readily pass someone at 1,000 RPM in 6th gear. Haha
