Default Convert Hydraulics to Cable Clutch

Does anyone know of a way to convert the shitty hydraulic clutch in our cars to a cable clutch. Seems that that would solve a lot of problems. Everytime my clutch is F'd up its some thing to do with the hydraulics. Cost me my first trans last week. I'm so fed up I'm ready to switch to an A4. But looks like thats just like opening a differnt can of worms.

If no one makes a kit now does anyone know who to contact about designing something.

Thanks Rob

Got to bring this post back from the dead Any thoughts on it? Would love to be able to keep my M6 but have it cable operated.

Holy 5 year bump, Batman!

Actually, I'm interested in this too, though I don't think anyone has done it.

As if cable clutches are much less problem prone. I hear nothing but bitching from Cobra owners about Quadrant problems.

^^^Very true, I snapped a cable or two in my old fox body......BUT---problems are much more straightforward to diagnose and cheaper to fix w/cable systems----no replacing expensive hydraulic parts because they *might* be your problem. I'd convert in a heartbeat.

Before we developed our master cylinder kit, we were working on a cable conversion for these cars. It'd be a very labor intensive swap and it'd be impossible to package and sell a bolt-on kit. For this reason, we developed our new Adjustable Master Cylinder kit. In our opinion, it's far better than any cable conversion - and much cheaper and easier to install as well.

Wow this one's old..

I was thinking of how better it would be setup as a Cable System too, it wouldn't be affected by heat.

The last time I was in a Cobra, its stock clutch pedal was every bit as heavy if not heavier than my aftermarket clutch with hydraulics, and I have a pretty heavy clutch pedal. I'll stick with the hydraulics.

Hmm thats strange i drove my buddies 600+rwhp 03 cobra and his clutch pedal felt alot lighter than mine, it also engaged at the top of the travel too. Other than that it was ok. Still drove like a friggin crown vic.

As a Mustang guy myself , I always hear people complain about the cable setup and want to go hydraulic . I refer them to boards like this one where everyone is bitching about the shitty hydraulic setups .......

Seems to me that an LT1 style hydraulic setup would be the best compromise. All the hyd. are accessible from the exterior of the the trans.

^^^ I agree with VIPRETR, I dont think it would be nearly as bad if everything was accessible from the outside. Seems like the slave cylinder being on the outside of the tranny wouldn't be as suceptible to heat problems either.
