I need a clutch, looking for some advise.
I've got a 2000 Trans am. It's got a speed Inc. SI5 cam with supporting mods and an LS6 intake. The trans is also built, along with a Mosier 12 bolt. I've also got a 150 shot on it as well. It had a spec stage 4 in it, but it is going out which I think was due to a bad install. I'm not too sure, but am really not worried.
The car also has a billet steel flywheel which I would keep so the clutch would have to work with it. I am looking to spend $500 on the clutch. It would need to be able to hold up to the power. The car is also daily driven, so driveability would be nice. I've gone all over the place with specs. I was told by a shop stage 5 would be good, then I was told by someone else it wouldn't last. I'd like to avoid 3 and 4 because they use a puck style. I was looking at the 2+. I'm open to all clutch brands though. I've heard RAM makes good clutches. Other brands I don't know too much about are Mcleod and cenerforce. I'm sure there are plenty others.
I am looking for good advise here to help me make my decision. I really don't have the cash to drop on anything more than that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

I have been doing a little more research while waiting for some replies and the Monster clutches look to be great. Stage 3 seems like it would work fine, and the price should be good since I might not even need the flywheel.

Right now I'm looking at the spec stage 2+, 4, 4+, and ram HD. Ive ran a spec 4 for over 30k miles and was happy. I would really like to see more pricing and info about the 4+. I would like to stay with a solid disc so I don't have to worry about a sprung hub coming apart.

I noticed that we are out of your budget, however, if your budget happens to grow take a look at our lineup.

On another note, my friend told me that I should get a 12" Centerforce dual friction HD clutch. Anyone heard of it and is it any good?

I did actually. I was looking to just get the clutch without the flywheels but you guys don't separate. If you did I would have got your stage 3.

For a stage 4+ or a stage 3+ there would be very little differnece if any in pricing. In fact I would bet that most of our dealers would offer them at the same cost. I have used on of these myself and it is lighter than a stage 3+ and not very different in terms of drivability. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!
