Default Anybody pull trans without y-pipe?

This was the first time I had done it without pulling the y-pipe off. It was a little tight and I only left the exhaust come down enough to get that top passenger bolt out. Just wondering if this was the choice of most who do it on the floor or if you still pull the y-pipe off?

I always remove the shifter cause it is easier to fill the trans back up thru the opening. 4 qts and then open the fill plug and let some drain back out.

I always leave my y pipe connected. I disconnect the exhaust right before it goes over my axle so i can lower the trans to get at the top bolts.

Ditto, same thing that held me up, soon as we removed it, went right in

I've never had to drop any part of my exhaust to get the transmission out. I just pulled it the other night and no issues. What y-pipe were you running that you had to pull it? I've done it with a catted TSP and a Pacesetter ORY multiple times for each without issues.

And you should always pull the shifter when removing the transmission.

Never pulled the y-pipe, a little tight fit but had to pull the shifter (car was on jackstands and tranny barely came out under the car).
