Default gto t56 in f-body, LOL as expected search didnt help.........

wondering if the t56 in the gto will mate up to a ls1 f-body. from what i have researched it has the mn12 gear ratios which are different but other then that are there any differences with the shifters or bell housings? cant find anything that is definitive....

Hello, it will bolt up to the ls1 but the shifter is going to give you some problems. The shifter is in a different position and will not fit through the stock hole.

It will bolt up, but you either need to get a new style starter, or use an F-body bellhousing.
You also need to use the f-body shifter cup.

I have an MN12 in my Fbody.

Like stated above, you will need ...

1.) Fbody bellhousing or GTO starter.
2.) Rear offset lever.
