Default Leak from rear of tranny. Need input

Ok i bought a t-56 that was rebuilt from GM off a buddy. It came out of his car and only has 2000 miles on it. Its going in a project car. So i got it bolted to the engine and i filled it up with fluid. The engine was out of the car. When i went to install the engine/tranny together into the car. Tranny fluid started pouring out the back of the tranny. But i went ahead and installed everything in the car. The car has been on jack stands for 2 weeks and its only dripped twice. I realize there is probaly something wrong but when the fluid started pouring out i had the engine and tranny at an extreme angle so i could get it in the car. Would this explain the fluid dumping out? what do yall think? Haven't had a chance to drive it cause the car isn't road ready yet.

The trans should have no fluid it in when you are installing or removing it.

No but make sure you check the fluid in the unit and top it off as needed.

It doesn't really matter if you don't mind making a mess. Or you can buy the rear tranny plug that prevents anything from coming out and you're fine.

Well... I guess if you like to dump transmission fluid out that's up to you.

Removing the fluid also makes it lighter, easier to move the tranny around during install/removal.

I haven't used mine yet, but HF has a red plastic one.
