The facotry hurst shifters that came on these cars are JUNK! I think you should look into the Hurst Pro Billet shifter. That is what I am running now and its is WAY better.

ive personally tried alot of shifters. stock, stock hurst, mgw, pro 5.0, hurst billet plus , and the factory hust is by far to me the best. a very nice combination from short shifts to a not so hard and nochy feel

the stock shifter, and hurst both use the same stick. the only difference is the hurst ****, and some parts in the transmission tower.

both suck cuz the arent direct shift, they have a rubber bushing, hurst pro billet is direct shift. no ***** bushings

braun instead of brains i guess...

anyway, factory hurst here. feels the best...all the aftermarkey ones ive tried are to notchy. the hust is very predictable for me atleast.

The factory base shifter is the one that is the POS. It's horribly vague. I too find the aftermarket shifters I've driven to be too notchy. I prefer the factory Hurst.

So if you're looking for a factory replacement, look for a factory Hurst in the parts forum here. They come up from time to time.
