Default Clutch Engagement is near full release of clutch pedal

I went to the track and on my 3rd run I had a strange thing happen to my clutch. It seemed like it was slipping all the way down the track until I started pumping the clutch pedal and it stopped slipping. When driving home that night I noticed that the engagement point was different, where before I made that run the clutch would engage halfway of the release of the clutch pedal. Now the engagement point is all the way at the top and when I fully release the clutch pedal. Any idea on what happened? My buddy says that my master cylinder may have a problem and I should get a adjustable master clutch cylinder, which makes the most sense being I have a 99 TA. I priced out one for $259 plus shipping, and I would like to know if I have other less expensive options that will do the job. Plus any input on other ideas on what the problem is.

What clutch are you running?

When the disk wears, this will happen. That's when an adj. master cylinder is necessary. You can adjust your pedal/engagement point back down as far as you want...

You can buy a modified stock adj. master cylinder for right around 100 bucks that will do the trick..

It gets real hot down there when your clutch is slipping.
You might have some air in the system and just need to bleed it out.
I'm still running the stock Master with the drill mod.
My does engage toward the top of the Peddle, but I'm use to it there.
Try Bleeding if that doesn't do it. a stock master is about 180 I think, and it come with a new Line. So before you put it in you can do the drill mod.
I have had Zero Problems with mine and I run the SPEC stage three clutch. No Spacer.

I have a ZO6 clutch with around 1000 miles of use. At the time I only had the clutch slave cylinder replaced, but I have around 50k miles on the car now so it may be worth while to just go ahead and change the clutch master cylinder because the heads are pulled off right now and the CMC is easily accessible.

You should not need an adj. master with a Z06 clutch..

Check your fluid, maybe bleed the system if necessary. Otherwise it's your clutch that is toast..

I had the adjustable master cylinder installed over the weekend. How do I adjust the engagement point. When I turn the little nut it just makes the pedal stop sooner when pushing the clutch down. But the engagement point is still too high up and I want to have the engagement point start in the middle of releasing the pedal. I appreciate any help.

You have to disconnect the rod from the pedal and screw the little nut in and the fork thats screwed on to the end of the rod.
