Default Opinion on a clutch

I know this has prob been discussed before but i still wanted to get some other opinions the best clutch but this weekend i took my SS out and raced my friend in his Z both runs was pretty ****, the conditions was cold as hell and so was the road and i couldnt get my nittos to hook worth sh*it on the 1st run the car was all over the road threw 2 gears then the 2nd run right before the run, i did bout a 3 grand drop and the tires never slipped, but bout 20 secs later or so when we lined up and took off i droped it bout 3 grand it the car broke traction threw 2 gears again so finally we went home well the next mornin i got up and took my car down the road and i was cruisin bout 50 or so and punched it in 4th and it jumped like a grand on RPM's like the clutch was slipping and now like 2 days later its still sliping the clutch only got a little bit hot the night i ran it im pretty sure my clutch is gone so any opinions on my probs or on some good clutches was be helpful thanx a lot

ya know we do have a m6 and clutch forum

it'd be helpful if you listed your current mods and future plans and your year ls1. spec 3 usually gets the nod around here.

you must have a lot of track time cuz im on the stock clutch and have alot more bolt ons then you and the clutch is still holding up.

look into the spec 3 or similar clutches, that should handle more then what you throw at it. not sure if the sale is stil on but ls1speed or TTP was having a sale on spec 3's for 377. great price, get the new slave as well if you have a 98-00.

I went with the Mcloed twin disc and I love it, it's very smooth and will handle anything you throw at it.

That has to be the longest run on sentence I have read yet. I used my stock clutch for almost 2yrs without a problem. I upgraded to a Spec Stg. 3 due to the new mods and LOVE it. Check out the other forum.

McLeod single should do yea. But no idea on the year of your SS. IMO to build a good system, go with the McLeod single, adjustable master by McLeod, a new slave and do the drill out mod.
