Default Why want my clutch pedal push in...

Got everything mounted and then tried to push in the pedal. The master cylinder will not move an 1/8". When we bench bleed it, it seem to prime and then increased in pressure. After installing everything, it just want move. Should I bleed it some more? Is it vapor locked? What happening with this $%^^ thing?

Is the line pushed all the way in to the slave?

I'm going to try that tomorrow. I thought it was. I just watered down the garage floor, so going under is not an option tonight. Thanks.

You really have to push that thing in .
Its pretty tough sometimes if you dont' get the right angle
But you should hear a click and it should not pull back out.

Now that I think about it, I never could get fluild to exit the slave. I think I primed the master and there is no fluid running to the slave.

Yep
its not in all the way
Pull on it and see if it comes out
I bet it does.
Oh yea
One more thing
Did you replace the clutch?
IF you did you might need to loosin the tranny to releive the pressure on the SLave cylinder. The pressure on it will keep you from ever gettin that connection on.
Been there ,,,, Done that

UPDATE: The line is clear and fluid flows through the slave, but after I push the clutch in to bleed, then close valve, and release clutch pedal. After doing that the clutch will not push in. You think it might be a bad slave?

Sounds like your slave or Clutch is jammed , Locked up or something.
I think its time to yank the tranny and see whats going on inside.
Is that an 01-02 Slave?

Is the slave external to the tranny or internal.

If its inside the Bellhousing , run down to the local GM dealershit and get you an O1 - 02 slave and put that in there.

Internal - That's not what I want to hear. That may be my only option.

Oh yea I see now DUH
you have an LS1 in a 78 corvette
You have the slave around the input shaft of the tranny.
Looks like you need to replace that and make sure that Clutch is installed right on not hanging up.
Did you say what clutch was in it?

Get rid of the centerforce.
THey suck on LS1
can't disengage clutch over 5500 rpms is the main problem.
Get a Spec stage 3 or that Ram Clutch.
Hell even a stock ZO6 Clutch is better than that centerforce.
Sorry your having so many problems with it.
Is the LS1 stock, or Modded?

I spoke with Centerforce and they admit they had a problem, but it was resolved with lighter counterweights. They also said that the evolution of the improved slave cylinder in the f-body has also helped.
