Default t56 rebuild - good place?

Hey my uncle recently got a 93 LX w/ a borg warner t56 6spd (i think from a viper)

I think the syncros are bad, and something dealing with a fork. not sure, but I do know that it keeps popping out of 3rd gear, and its hard to get into 3rd.

Any one know of a reputable trasmission place here in texas, (houston, austin, san antonio, corpus areas) that does badass work?

thanks.

Pull the tranny
Load it up in a truck or car with big Trunk
Leave early and Make a day trip down here . Takes less than three hours to rebuild it if you have all the parts.
Then head home in the after noon.

Tom, I was just wondering. When you say 3 hours does that included everything including bearings? I did one yesterday and I was just wondering why it took me so long.

No bearings
the basic rebuild actually tells you NOT to change the bearings unless the need it. Most of the time they don't . You have to make sure the shims are right if you change the bearings.
But I have done bearing in the last tranny I did, and yes it did take a bit longer.
some of the bearings are a BITCH!!!!!

thats cool, if steve hadnt got to it first, it'd have been me.

Joseph, either steve or myself can rebuild it. just give us a holler. i'd be happy to steal steve's tools and do it myself.
